The game isn't made only for you, that you have a extreme problem with the G3 due to you not liking it's recoil doesn't have to be to the detriment of other people who still enjoy the weapon or at least don't complain about it as if it's worse than a musket.

I see nobody wants an improvement for this faction.

Anyways, I'm just saying MEC need a change, a mixture of weapons or sumn.

I really stopped playing with MEC in PR, well good luck with this!

I feel like most people complaining about the recoil is full auto. Really the only faction I personally think is better than mec with handheld is the fsa.

I neither like that weapon, it feels ... weird to play with it compared to other weapons that are easier to use, maybe you don't have to remove it but why don't you add a secondary weapon for MEC ? Investigate which other weapons the mix faction uses and give the players option to choose one of both weapons, that will make happy those who like the G3 and those who doesn't.

CQB variant of G3.

I for one love the G3, it's one of my favorite standard riflemen weapons. If you make your shots count it's TTK is scary. G3 and FAL are both about making your shots count instead of emptying a mag hoping you won the spraying match.

"PR has never catered to players like this." Haha :smile: when you aim and put the crosshair on enemy and take the shot, bullet dont go where you aim. RNG decide that for you. They make good players miss and bad players to hit, you just need to aim at general direction and spam us much you can.

Because although fictional,MEC represents conventional army,
that follows standardization of its own.

Putting kits with 7.62x39 firing weapon alongside regular 7.62x51 ones
would make MEC not that much different than unconventional factions.

Further more,watering down of kit content that way can pretty much justify
putting M60 mg,MAC-10 or MP5/10 to US kits.

If someone wants to do the AKM in a faction, maybe someone should create a Kurdistan faction? The AKM is the standard issue rifle of the Peshmerga. They use a mix of AKMs, G3s, G36s, M4/M16s and VHS-2s. You can have the RPK as the LMG, with the MG3 as the alternative GPMG to the PKM.

It'd be a really interesting faction with a mix of weapons from both East and West that would have an organized feel to it, unlike the FSA.

You've been playing the game how long?

While I'm not personally a fan of the G3, it's still a good gun and I appreciate it's strengths. If you can't use it that's your fault; not the gun's.

But it is the best long range standard issue rifle, takes at most 2 bullets to kill. I'll give you that it's very annoying to follow up your shots with it on long range, but usually an opponent under fire will not score any hits of his own or run for cover, while you can take your time to land the second shot.

I find your outrage rather amusing: "not everybody agrees with me, that means they all disagree". If you want to kill your suggestion/this talk like that, by all means then, keep on going.

The problem I - personally - have with AKMs being added to MEC is alternative is that the AK family is quite prominent in the game already, multiple factions have it in their arsenal and I see little value in equipping another faction with it. As such I suggested earlier to "create" a pseudo branch for MEC, like the Russian and German paratroopers seen on Dovre and Silent Eagle respectively. Doing it this way it's entirely possible to hand out a different rifle for this pseudo branch on urban maps(Marlin, Muttrah, Sbeneh, maybe Burning) as alternative to boost close range performance, whereas the remaining maps stay as they currently are.

Here is how i see it regarding all the suggestions in this thread:
1. New MEC version (Marines, Paratroopers, w/e) with AK etc. This is the most reasonable idea in here, but we wont do it. The SAA will be pretty much this ;)

2. Make MEC use modern AK&AKM. So a Arabic speaking Russia? We have a thread asking for less Russia at the same time. Lets make them fight over this :p

3. Give ALT kits AK, AKM, Aug,... This is not really good in terms of authenticity. While many ME countries use those, it would be really weird to see one army mix different bullet types like that. Issuing two types of rifles with different ammunition requirements seems like a nightmare for the logistics officer.

4. GIVE MEC RPG7!!!111 While this is not really about the G3, we are working on it :)

I see absolutely no issues with the G3 or the MEC weapons in general. Unlike the AK74m which really had issues in past releases, the G3 works as intended. The scope is not the greatest for CQB, but so is the Russian one (even with BUIS). However the G3 is really good at longer ranges and paired with the MG3 makes MEC very deadly. They also get the best shotgun for CQB.
