One thing that annoys the hell out of me is the people that dive as soon as you get into a close contact fight. Take earlier today for example..
I'm running through a back alley when I turn a corner and bump into an enemy soldier. Out of reflex I let a few rounds go, hitting him in the torso. As I hit him he dives forward and lets a 3 round burst go, killing me instantly.

When you dive it should take a second to pull your rifle up again, like after sprinting.

crappest sniper rifles ive ever used - its easyer to snipe somone with a spec ops carbine then a 50ae - and i like said above dont believe how people survive a 50AE RIFLE!! round to anywhere in there chest or head.

^so true!i usually use the spec ops kit for close range sniping ANY day. which of course IRL close range sniping is sniping UNDER what... 1,000 yards?

where in BF2 close range sniping is under 80 meters (sorry i dont know converion of meters and yards)

I personally have no need for crosshairs, id like to see them removed personally, but i see why some people wouldnt want them out. saying that "you have a general idea of where your shooting so you can have crosshairs" would mean that you also have an ammo counter because you "should know" how much you have left.

also if there WERE croshairs, someone said, it would be quite a big circle, so, i guess if some of us didnt like the circle we could easily take it out by turning the transparency all the way up.

Red Orchestra has the best infantry modelling at the moment for the following reasons:

- No crosshairs with gun sway so even putting tape on the monitor doesn't help

- bullets actually hurt and one shot is generally lethal

- bunnyhopping is impossible since one jump depletes all your stamina

- proper momentum modelling; you can't sprint at full speed and stop on a dime - same with strafing

If PR incorporates these it would be superb. My biggest gripe about BF2 at the moment is the helicopter flag capture - only dismounted passngers should be able to cap a flag. Attack chopper shouldn't cap flags at all.

Furthermore, if we get a pilot class, they should not be able to capture flags.

My biggest gripe is that airplanes and choppers don't have to land to resupply their ammo, now they just rape a control point, go back to their base hovering for 3 seconds and continue to rape.

Overall i would like to see airplanes/choppers should be much harder too use, imo all this spawn/base raping ruins the game.

It's a good idea to make helicopters unable to capture bases, I STRONGLY disagree making them harder to use however. If you play as I do, mostly a pilot, you must assume that the players character have no difficulty controlling the choppers after years of doing so. Making it harder would only botcher the fun experience of feeling like a pilot ace. I propose that the correct solution would be to include the pilot class as a pickup kit, and code it so that none other than someone carrying the pilot kit can enter a chopper or plane as the driver (Or wingman). It would be easy to place the kits in hangars, and the model already exists ingame, it just needs to be taken out of the vehicle. Also, unless there's someone who opt against it, I also suggest that only pilots be supplyed with parachutes. Now, of course they should be allowed small arms to defend themself IF shot down, but they should get no points for either killing on foot or flag capturing, but instead double points on dropoffs and assist kills to make up for it. The kit should be respawnable, but not pickupable from a corpse. It might end in a bit of "kit-camping" but I don't know about you people, but I'd be willing to accept that when pubbing, and it wouldn't be a problem at all on organized servers.

yeah ur right. but i do think ground kills by a pilot should count. the weapon being less effective should be a good enough way of preventing the use of pilot class for ground assault and the pilot might not be in the position to go back to his/her airport straight away and maybe some killing is needed to get there, in which case skill is needed to kill someone with a better weapon and therefore the pilot deserves points.

Then again, a lot of people are so good at headshots with the pistol that they could easily bail'n'shoot. but yes, this one will be up to the devs, assuming they read this stuff.

yes, you might be right. however as a footsoldier it's very frustrating to be spawnraped by a noob who can do that because the chopper is so easy to handle.

and also respawn times are too short.

i can understand if people find it fun but it's not fun as a footsoldier.

it might help to increase the damage.

It's a pretty damn hurtful way to indicate that I want to "ease up the competition" by actually suggesting that chopper raping should be done easiere for my personal gain! I don't see ANY way that could be misinterpeted from my post, and I'm not playing the blame game. I have never even considered using the attack chopper for camping, and people who do wreck the game for everyone else. Besides the little hint that I'm a chopper whore, that's sorta where it's at.

*EDIT* Eased up the last post, now the only one with hurt feelings will be me, and good riddance.

well if you look at his post in a different way you could interpret it as:
the other guy's post interpreted wrote:yes, you might be right. however as a footsoldier it's very frustrating to be spawnraped by a noob who can do that because the chopper is so easy to handle.

the you he used might also be used to adress anyone reading the post recognising him/herself. it's not necessarily you.

I KNOW, I BEEN there myself. I hate getting raped as much as the next guy, but just because I fly the black hawk dosn't mean I'm responsible for the people who choppercamp.

And take a look back Wolf, he quoted ME, and stated the following:
I understand you find it fun to play as an pilot and get nice high scores and own everybody but i would suggest you to try to play as a footsoldier only for a while
*applause*

*stop applause*

again, you could interpret that as directed to you, or to anyone reading the post and recognising themselves as spawn raper. he quoted your post because he disagreed with the idea, not to accuse you of childish play.

let's cut this. we're flaming eachother over someone else's post...

Yeah, this is pretty stupid, I got no beef with you. And anyway, I've gone and decided I don't care anymore. He probably didn't mean anything by it anyway.

Life is too short for pointless flaming anyway.
