Location: Ar Raqqa, Syria
Size: 4km
Factions: MEC, Syrian Army(SAA)? vs FSA, ISIS(?)
Game play type: Infantry, Medium-heavy vehicles
Game modes: AAS, INS

The main emphasis will placed on assault or defense of the strengthened positions. The armor will have to work together with infantry to achieve success. I will pay also much attention to war in the city in near fight. As well as in real Syrian war, the large role on this map will be played by ATGM.

I like the idea!

But that bluefor main looks like trouble to me. From the vehicle hangars a vehicle can just drive right onto the runway. I think there should be at least a dirt bank or a couple of roadblocks to make a proper demarcation in between the runway and the area that is meant to be used by the vehicles.


Also I would put the heli pads somewhere else, because now all the infantry will have to cross the runway.

Piece of advice, don't plan flags/POI in corners of the map. Main bases are fine, but don't put flags there. Generally avoid the borders ;)

can already see there will be major terrain morphing problems with this, think of kashan v1's problems, try to be more kashan v2

No, on Kashan there is no big city, the main gameplay will pass in the city if FSA is better to work, then perhaps they will take VCPs

Because the other faction on the map doesn't have a good counter to CAS, only having stingers and SA-7 man portable missile launchers. Whilst it usually takes either another jet, stationary AA or and AA vehicle to take out enemy CAS (helicopters are slower and usually lower and thus easier to hit)

One fighter ( Su- 22 ) does not give a strong advantage. Of course , with good intelligence and competent pilot , OPFOR will incur significant losses on open ground . But when you consider that the main action will take place in the city, the OPFOR can easily hide.

Also, do not underestimate the AA kits and 50cal cars , it is also effective because the SU - 22 is not so fast as mig-29 . One should not get hung up on the balance , it does not happen in life , especially in this conflict , the technical equipment is not garant of victory

SU-22 is still fast enough to get out of dodge to have hardly a nuisance from the .50 calibre techies. AA truck might do some damage but not enough to send it down unless the gunner reacts like an aimbot. And of course it has flares to keep the aa misssiles off. And depending on the payload it does give a considerable firepower boost to the battlefield. Also this is PR, in which vehicles do have a over looming presence over the battlefield, sure APCs and the kind are easily taken out and choppers as well but there is a huge gap between choppers and jets that the insurgents have hardly any counters for.
