Israeli M26A2 Fragmentation Grenade

Post by Expendable Grunt »

I got to play Israel the other night as a rifleman and noticed something strange.

Their grenade is listed as the M26A2 grenade, which is in fact what Israel uses as their frag. However, in game, it has a time delay fuse, where as in real life the M26A2 is impact with a backup time delay fuse. A time delay M26 is most likely the M26A1 (or M61 as it was known later on).

Is this intentional, or an oversight?

Not an oversight, probably a bug. We always intended for the Israeli M26A2 to have an impact fuse, it should behave the same as the RGO in game.

Yes it does. I have killed many and seen many kill themselves with these. Nothing more fun than a fail-nade that instantly explodes in your face :)

The israeli grenade does have a shorter fuse than normal grenades, though.

To me it seems like it's something between the Russian one and other grenades.

Good to see it's on the go for the next version. Cheers!

Yep, picked the game back up a month or so ago. Prior to that, not played since early .9 or so.

Talking about RGOs, they are buggy on some maps. When you toss them, they do not go off. The RGD impact nade seems not to have this issue.

bug or inteded?

Grenades not exploding happens randomly and for both impact and normal grenades. Also the RGD-5 (i assume you mean this) is not a impact grenade.

Do grenades and smoke grenades have health? i have noticed that sometimes when a grenade/smoke hits a vehicle it disappears, this also happens if it hits sloped surfaces almost as if they had health like crates that "die" if they roll down a hill or are dropped from >50 meters.

There a good way to test this: throw a smoke nade on the ground, get a friend on the tank gunner seat, fire a HE/HEAT at the nade!

If you fire at an area engulfed in smoke the the smoke dissipates for a second due to the blast and then it's re-engulfes it,nothing happens to the smoke grenade. Can be reproduced, by throwing a smoke grenade, letting it sit for like 5 sec and then throw a frag grenade.

The magical disappearing of the nade happens only when it's in the air/rolling, but i really don't know anything else about it.
