Re: The "Back in my day..." Thread
Back in MY day, we could spawn on squad leaders.
Back in MY day, rallies lasted until someone knifed them.
Back in MY day, we didn't have no optics.
Back in MY day, we were afraid MEC with optics would be like fighting a team of marksmen kits.
Back in MY day, MEC didn't have G3.
Back in MY day, we could spawn Special Ops.
Back in MY day, we could have civie squads.
Back in MY day, we had molotovs.
Back in MY day, LAT was no thing.
Back in MY day, Tactical Gamer still had a server - and it was boss.
Back in MY day, I still lead [DM].
Back in MY day, we could spawn on APCs (I think).
Back in MY day, instaprone headshots with SAWs were a thing.
Back in MY day, Insurgency was some newfangled thing that probably wouldn't work out.
Back in MY day, we got SLAMs.
Back in MY day, MEC got nice things.
Back in MY day, we didn't have no fancy "thermals".
Back in MY day, we didn't have FOBs.
Back in MY day, FOBs didn't come with Machine Guns and TOWs.
Back in MY day, we didn't get no mortars.
Back in MY day, we got JDAMs, and they sucked, and we liked it that way.
Back in MY day, we didn't have any VietSEKNAM maps.
Back in MY day, there were only three factions.
Back in MY day, we got A10s and Insurgent tanks on Al Basrah, and it was a right shite show.
Back in MY day, we could punish for TKs.
Back in MY day, Vodniks were still a thing.
etc.

This is a nostalgia thread, in other words quite possibly the single worst place you could ask that questionSorta wrote:Damn you guys make this game sound terrible now. Is it even still worth playing?

I think it is still worth playing (and has some major improvements from when I was playing most regularly). But, I think the community's quality has gone down - not in terms of skill or even co-operation (for the most part), but in the kind of cac-handed bigotry that goes down in a lot of sessions.
I never expect PR to be one of those "safe space" things, but maybe "gaskikes" shouldn't be an approved squad name, at least.

actually they were removed because they were overpowered in certain scenarios from what I remember. They were **** for hitting mountains and buildings if they hit the roof, but they would basically flatten entire compounds and kill the cache in Kokan, or completely destroy north/south village on Kashan.Expendable Grunt wrote: Back in MY day, we got JDAMs, and they sucked, and we liked it that way.

I don't remember MEC having a rail on their G3's - must have been while I was away.

I really miss them. Artillery just doesn't seem to have the necessary punch. It would be nice if we had a smaller blast radius JDAMs.Geronimo wrote:Because I just found it:
