Re: The "Back in my day..." Thread
You could punch hideouts and FOBs to death
And your patch was hidden in slot '9', if you pressed '8' you got a... red coloured.. smoke grenade thingy.. that killed you if you were standing on it when it went off
It was a phosphorous grenade. It was the tool used to kill FOBs, Hideouts, Light vehicles and gun emplacements outright, but was also used in cache demolition. You would often find a cache location surrounded with bodies and all it took was for one person to pull the pin and get close enough (it had no throw distance)
The damage would also cause wounded people to die on contact.

Exploits that no will ever use again: if you dropped a phosphorous grenade under/very near a building it made it very difficult/impossible for the defenders to hear the sound of a grapple being deployed.Sgt.BountyOrig wrote:It was a phosphorous grenade.

Like ramming enemy tanks with your tank? Twice in the same game? I've known some people to become so butthurt they end up banning you from the TS. Forget who the guy was, but he was so upset.Rabbit wrote:Back in my day, people got banned for ridiculously stupid shit that people wouldn't be perm banned for.

I think I got banned from TG once for putting a C4 on a HMMWV and ramming the Chinese tank on Qwai a long time ago. I don't think it killed it. Good times.

Have a whole squad drop an incendiary grenade on an armored vehicle at once and it blows up immediately. Very clearly shown in the ods vid in my sigWeb_cole wrote:Exploits that no will ever use again: if you dropped a phosphorous grenade under/very near a building it made it very difficult/impossible for the defenders to hear the sound of a grapple being deployed.

Hah, I got banned from [TG] for some minor thing or another; I think I described something as sex or sexy or something.Rabbit wrote:Back in my day, people got banned for ridiculously stupid shit that people wouldn't be perm banned for.

Hey, that wasn't so long ago!KingKong.CCCP wrote:Back in my day...

And I'm so happy PR DEV team understood what chaos would platoons bring in the environment that's 2016 PR. It's hard to lead 8 noobs nowadays, not to mention more of them in a bigger clusterfuck.

i remember still vanilla maps that were played with high teamwork and communication .
now maps force you to play with teamwork and its just make it boring

Back in my day bullets registered at least 50% of the time.
No maps force you to use teamwork, you can still run around and do your own thing. It won't work as well, but that's kinda the point.sunshine2241991 wrote:back in my days of .0.3 0.4 the maps were arcady . but players made the mod .

Back in my day, basecamping with the enemy sniper as insurgent was a style of play, not a bannable offense. What is DoD? get your *** in there and give them hell.
