MIC use
So I just downloaded this standalone cause I love BF and I love mil-sims. Im tight on cash but should be getting a decent Headset soon. Is there really any point playin multiplayer till I get it? Even if I play competently and listen well, I get kicked the moment someone realizes or if I tell them immediately.

Don't. Even if someone ever tells you it's fine. Don't.
Create a local game yourself, test some weapons. Teach yourself how to fly. Loads of stuff you can do on PR as a noob by yourself.

Re: MIC use
I've used a 3$ mic for 2 years (until it broke). Mediocre quality, but it works. I know that it's not the money problem. Get that lazy butt up and buy the cheapest mic you can get.
As you noted yourself - people will keep kicking you no matter what (w/o a mic). If you don't want to talk, just have a mic, respond to your SL and tell him that you can't talk a lot for some reason (but at least use the mic for once to acknowledge the fact). In my experience I've played a lot with people who can't speak for some reason (sleeping family, dorm, etc.) - if they explain their silence and type a lot (but have a mic), it's ok with me.

sbitan89, can you hook up a a speaker in the mic port and use that? I've had bizarre results at times. or a super duper cheapy mic. see if you can find someone giving away one that came with a desktop. is that still a thing?

Re: MIC use
Haha as I stated, I went out and got one. Thanks though. Now I just need to find some people to play with regularly. So far going it alone has been ****.agouti wrote:sbitan89, can you hook up a a speaker in the mic port and use that?
