[?] 3D model format
I am a 3D modeller. What format does PR/vBF use ? Which applications can export it and import it ?

Rhino your a classic mate, myia lol, i got in trouble for lol in class
@ Sandy, if you cant get your hands on 3dsMax you can try the free watered down version of it, Gmax. Basically its the same as 3dsMax but it doesnt have ALL the features 3dsMax has.
Good Luck with your modelling, i hope you can make me a bran-spankin new building to add to my map!! (it could be a tower, or a Palace)

oh noe, it wasnt a big deal, it was just the way you said it that made it funny.'[R-DEV wrote:Rhino']Well I couldn't remember the exact name off the top of my head or how it was spelt and couldn't be asked to look it up. If I knew you guys where going to make such a big deal out of it then I would have bothered to look it up....![]()

I can model in another app and convert anyway... UV texturing would probably have to be done in Max, if not the actual textures...
I'll look into it... I find Lightwave Modeller and Modo to be the most
efficient modelling tools

The simple answer to your question would be .bundledmesh, .staticmesh, .skinnedmesh, and .collisionmesh, and no programs can export any of them. (without extra plugins)
So either work just as well as each other. Maya is really no easier than 3ds max once you've got the necessary plugin, but as duckitt mentioned, maya has advantages when using skinnedmeshes (i.e. player models, flags etc.).
Not quite correct - but the editor itself can convert .mb (the maya default format) to the required format. There is a plugin for 3ds max that will do many things for bf2 including export meshes.'[R-CON wrote:Duckitt']Maya, as stated, saves straight to the BF2 required file formats.
3DS can be used with advanced tools - which I have a link to if you need them (not on my right now though!).
