tournaments, what to expect?
Like the title says, what can i expect when participating in a tournament? I'm kind of new to PR (installed it a year ago, but haven't been playing it all the time) and i'm not able to find any clear information about some things. For example, are there mandatory playing times for battles or trainings? And if i turn out not to be able to participate in a scheduled battle, is that a problem? I'm also wondering for how long a campaign goes on and how many trainings and battles are being playing. I'm interested in taking part in a tournament, but i have got a pretty unpredictable agenda at some days so i was wondering if that might be a problem.

Re: tournaments, what to expect?
A squadleader and it's second in command usually organize trainings from time to time, there are set dates that battles will be played, and commanders from both sides will be planning the details of the battle (map, assets etc.) before the battle begins.
I believe you can be inactive for some time but if you're inactive for a long time you just get booted out and someone else can take your place (which is why mid campaign there is usually another sign up)
Through I have not participated in a campaign yet so don't take my word for it.

Re: tournaments, what to expect?
Miss a couple of battles and trainings is all good, almost no one can be expected to have that kind of dedication. When things kick off all battles will be played every other saturday at 1900 PRT(the time below your forum name).
Most likely, if you are not as active, the squadleader will give preference to someone more active which will play the battle.
Trainings are usually 1-3 times a week, it's decided by your squadleader.

PRT matches take place on every second Saturday at 19:00 GMT. You would be expected to be organised enough to post your availability a week/a few days or so prior to that, and the same for any team or squad events or trainings.ShoarmaboyNL wrote:For example, are there mandatory playing times for battles or trainings? Here's the stuff they DONT want you to know. *cracks knuckles*
If you are infantry and sitting on flags, you will be mortared until your flat parts have flat parts. Stay spread out.
If an APC hits your compound, stay away from the walls, the HE will splash off the walls behind you and kill you, but more often than not the APC will aim for your feet, so try to behind an indestructible static. The apc will want to flank you if you are behind an indestructible static, so try to have a lat handy who uses you for bait and fires at the apc from behind. LAT needs to be invisible like a fart in a breeze, absolutely invisible.
The HAT/sniper/anti air squad or "recon squad" always plays in a rambo style run and gun way that will infuriate the infantry squads on the flags because APCs always roam around outside of Light AT distance and the hat kit is always needed to kill those buggers, but the hat kit guy in running around base raping.
Even more infuriating is the constant lack of TOW emplacements, TOWS should be everywhere but never are.
Your squad leaders will be listening to their commander more than their squad and the squad will be destroyed because of that most of the time. i cant count how many squad wipes we got because the squad leader told us to stand still while he talked to the other squad leaders or commander.
Some advice.
Don't protect the medics. protect the breacher. The breacher is more important than anyone because he can destroy FOBs, he can roam, he can kill civis, and he has the hook for quick escapes. He is a swiss army knife, and the medics are anchors that are usually a burden because they are usually johnny come latelys with the special squad list kits, or they are old men with arthritis who cant shoot for shit so they take up a support role, but they cant help but die all the time, they are getting used to it because they can hear grandma beckoning them home to jesus. Medics can always be revived if the lord deems it fit.
As the game gets into it's second half, expect the squad kits to be different from the original plan.
Expect the squad leader to be despondent and out of focus, the remember to gently remind your squad quietly to make sure they're in cover and watching any gaps or doors in case infantry come in. Good places to hide are usually alongside a wall watching a gap or door thats along that same wall, but be aware of any openings on your exposed side, but something between you and that opening.
Position the automatic rifleman in a clever campy location before doing anything else. Not on roofs, more like, in hedges high up somewhere, not in towers they are retarded because that's where i would look first. half way down on a mountain with darkened textures is a clever spot. you might get lucky and find a glitchy rock on Black gold. Everyone should stay off rooftops at all times, that's where you go to die.
Auto rifle should not roam, autorifle should stay well behind the squad as they are patroling, not in front.
reason, if the squad suddenly comes under fire your squad wont all die quickly, so it will give the AR a chance to find an elevated position, take aim and counter wipe the squad, whilst your own squad acts as a distraction.
when the squad leader stays "hold on, cut chatter" it means like a deer in the headlights he cant understand whats going on around him because the other squad leaders are spamming the comms with no regard for anyone but themselves, so take cover, go prone under something strong and be a pussy and wait, while watching any entranceways.
It is at times like this, the squad needs to pick the squad leader up like a plank and move him to a safe indoorsy location, because like deaf dumb and blind man the SL is likely to walk out into the open and strip naked for rape time.
I hope my advice was helpful, it comes from 9 years of unholy *** rape and incompetence in PR.
I never got to be a better shooter, but i discovered patters in the madness.
