Aside from me getting warned for roadkilling with the UAV, tonight was pretty good. I like that we played Hades Peak as it's quite underplayed.

The past few days I noticed a big increase in the number of Large layouts being played. Playing 2 Large layouts out of 3 maps is kinda tiring.

Re: PRTA|EU prteamwork.com
Usually we strive to walk through different layers with each map. Playing 2 large out of 3 is not intended but can happen accidentally.
Sitting on a map for an hour or even longer shouldn't be considered as a negative. Large layers give squad leaders the chance for developing a more sophisticated battle plan. Simply because there is more time to think about your actions. In other words, large layers can be more 'tacticool'. What players and leaders make out of this chance is not up to admins however.
However, admins are heading for an even number of played maps and layers. The day-to-day work, though, proofs that we can only get to an approximation of a fair sorted list of layers and maps.

Re: PRTA|EU prteamwork.com
So I was doing Mech INF on PRTA's Mappack server on yamalia large (not a mappack map). The admins decided that out of all 21 retro mappack maps. to set Helmands return. For those who weren't aware. Helmands is a 0.5km map.... When I informed them of this, and insisted that they play a better suited map for the population, I was kicked.
So a full server of 100 people for a map that is the size of a skrimish map that was designed for co-op. Instead of maps like Ejod desert, Qinling, etc.
Good to see PRTA is upholding its stance of "We know game better than anyone else, if you try and help not fuck our players of we will kick and ban you"
Quality.

P.S. If you could ban the fucker who purposefully put a mine to the rear of our APC by the name of raiper that would be real great.

Confirming FFG, admins get triggered by nothing and kicking for any sort of feedback. FFG wasn't even being a tenth of the smartass he usually is.
I would tell you which admin was it, but of course, I can't even know with the disabled !admins command
Server also lagged terribly on yamalia. BF2 does a great job of masking the lag so no body really notices that its running like shit. You can definitely feel it when requesting kits or entering vehicles.
Also, this is the map you're trying to play with 100 players.

PRTA remains a server in which our only reason to join it is that the others are empty.

Status update. Map that is designed for co-op is now having all its fobs disabled due to being a .5km map with a 300m fob overun distance.

People question why these maps aren't in the main client -_- I highly advice server admins who run the retro or other map packs to look at what they are doing. These maps are so much fun if played right. But you ruin them this way
Please treat them with care, outlawz put a lot of work into them.

hear hear!PRTA remains a server in which our only reason to join it is that the others are empty.
BUT. Sometimes when there's a lot of admins, it's quite nice.
I'm sad because of PRTA has lost almost all of it's glory. Remember the silver days of PR (golden were before) - when PRTA had mandatory mumble rule, and every noob got kick/tempban. And newbies started using mics, and everyone was friendly towards them, help'd them out and shit. And there were many fellow squadleads that just randomly started to communicate with me (SL) and my inf squad through SL radio to group up as platoons and coordinate attacks together.
Nowadays it's a fucking rarity to see people coordinating together. Nowadays I just see two (or three) types of people- first, the old timers (who usually play together without noobs; and I mostly understand 'em), second, "teamwork loving typicals" who are usually not as skilled as old timers, but are interested in learning and communicating, third, "typicals who dislike teamwork because or reasons [for example, poor inglish], fourth, newbies and fifth - noobs (trolls, griefers, cheaters).
Damn, sorry for offtopic. My heart just hurts a bit (no, QUITE a bit). Imma actually gonna make a new topic somewhere to cry there.
OH, and on topic: I dislike old maps because of their size. I hate 1km2 maps. 100v100 is just a clusterfuck -AR's take the choke points, and then it's up to smoke granades and yolo rushes.

Re: PRTA|EU prteamwork.com
Instead of running a proper map, you run Helmands Return followed by Grozny Alt and multiple meatgrinders on a full server, before proceeding to tell everyone that wanted Qinling and 7gates to piss off and run Nuijamaa. Only good match I had was on Sunset.
Sad!
Sad!
These are the same admins that know not to run Ghost Train\488 on a full server, but suddenly started making these stupid decisions.[R-DEV]Mineral wrote:People question why these maps aren't in the main client -_- I highly advice server admins who run the retro or other map packs to look at what they are doing. Do you really need FOBs on a 0.5 km map. Before you say EMPLACEMENTS, you get shot before you shovel one up anyway.FFG wrote:Status update. Map that is designed for co-op is now having all its fobs disabled due to being a .5km map with a 300m fob overun distance.

There is a mandatory mic rule, and people who are shit and talk shit get kicked (most of the time). Not much is changed really.Mouthpiece wrote:I'm sad because of PRTA has lost almost all of it's glory. Out of 21 maps, did we really need to play the smallest map possible for 100 players?Heavy Death wrote:Do you really need FOBs on a 0.5 km map. Before you say EMPLACEMENTS, you get shot before you shovel one up anyway.

Re: PRTA|EU prteamwork.com
I'm not an admin, though 0.5km maps with 100 players is a bit retarded. on the other hand - Hills of Hamgyong is an "Omaha beach on land" type of deal, so it might be rather fun with 100p, for the novelty/action factor. Old maps are really simplistic, even the 1k or 2k ones are basically 0.5 because the OOB area covers half of the map everytime, therefore they are played only for the purposes of nostalgia and a broader selection. Admins put an old map every other round, to encourage people to download the map pack and to have some diversity.
Not everybody can be satisfied at once, but we have to keep the majority happy in order to make the running costs worth it while still presenting fresh ideas and not being stale with only a handful of maps and layers played.
Keep the constructive criticism coming, but keep in mind that the admins PRTA has are from different parts of the world and with different mindsets so brainfarts and inconstistencies happen.
