This fierce battle between 2 completely different factions will take place on the 18th of December 2016 and will be hosted on BASED EU and organised by 2 experienced commanders: @FFG and @Wicca
But first, a short introduction or dusting off to the concept of what War of the Factions is. Incase you didnt experience the last one.
War of the Factions is what exactly?
War of the Factions was originally founded back in 2014 as a project made and thought of by @Wicca (who you may vaguely remember
). As a PR vet that had been playing for over a decade he thought of a concept where every battle can be fought completely differently with different assets and factions together on the same map every time.How does it work?
Every team is assigned a commander who will chose his faction and then purchase his assets. These are then placed on the map by our scripters. Every team gets 1200 tickets to spend on assets. The price completely depends on what kind of vehicle it is.
The number of tickets that remain after the vehicles are purchased will be the ticket count that the team respective starts with. Only the commanders are selected by BASED, the squad leaders and grunts will be selected by sign ups, squad leaders and commanders. The teams will ultimately be structured and organised by the commanders.
The Battle: USMC vs Russia
By reviving the great concept of War of the Factions, we are aiming to re-live the esprit de corps that this event has provided to its players in the past. However, BASED will be now be in charge of technical and administrative support in this event, allowing us to take this event to the next level!
The Commanders for this edition of War of the Factions will be Wicca, who will be leading the USMC, and FFG in charge of the Russian forces, with access to ground and air assets of each of the respective ground forces. Its your classic matchup.
Unlike normal AAS that you may be used to, the map Adak (created by Rusty) Teams will fight instead for terrain rather than just cap points, similar to how real world armies fight for strategically important locations. With no designated position to attack or defend, commanders will have to place their troops carefully to establish a frontline while trying to break through that of the opposition. It will be a fight for every hill and field as each team attempts to gain the upper hand!
