Unify squad creation time

Back in the days of NEW I always felt like 3 was too long. Everything was usually sorted, we all had our kits and knew which vehicle to go to... and we just had to wait for another minute after that.

2:00 is the cleanest IMO. It's a good amount of time, and if people are loading slow you can just add a minute onto pre map time. Gives everyone more time to grab a cup of whatever they drink aswell.

I agree with liam. 3 minutes also is impossible for weaker hardware to reach in time. This basically removes the opportunity for those with older hardware to ever get an asset squad to lead. (If they are not in a clan)
As I am one of those with older hardware I can say that even 2 minutes are hard to meat sometimes. So I can understand why HOG is using 1:30 for that long.

On a sidenote. This discussion is a perfect example of how hard it is to unify rulesets and serversettings.

Honestly. Lets try a vote or so.
I will make a poll in the private SA Forum. As stated multiple times you can always increase the timer overall to give people more time to load in. So serveradmins will still be able to give more loading time to people with less good hardware.
Lets see if that works.

If you increase the briefing it should be fine

Why not make the poll in the most public of places - on PR forums?

And yeah, I agree with those who are saying that it shouldn't be more then two minutes as lot of people have medium or shitty PC's (mine is medium and sometimes I miss the 2min mark).

My two cents: 1.30 too short if I have to play with randoms I usually take more than minute to sort out my squad (e.g. kicking people with no mic, "mentally challenged", or people who dont listen the sq leader and assign the appropriate kits to the appropriate people) which leaves me with no time to co ordinate with other squads.

2.00 minutes is a bit better as it usually gives me around 30/40 seconds to share my plan with other SQ leaders

Very rarely I had the chance to play public servers that run 3.00 minute rule, but for a teamwork perspective is definetely the better option
In conclusion I would suggest something like 2.30 as someone said that even with a 5200rpm HD and bad HW in general still managed to load at 2.40, and that should be one of the worst scenarios.

(ps in my opinion players with very underpowered HW should not play heavy assets anyway)

This is a discussion with multiple arguments, none of which is causing drama. In any case you are the one causing drama @priceline.

I am watching this thread and the replies and ideas forwarded, and I appreciate it. I would also appreciate it if you did not cause it to turn into a some sort of negative example of what this community is by contributing to it.

I am very used to 2.00 since my time in PRTA. And it seems that was the standard in FCV when I joined there. So Most likely we will be sticking to that.

1:30 is usually too short to organise a squad of pubs. Especially when there's so much mic spam garbage.

I wish more servers would do 2 minutes.

Two mins seems enough time to organise the squad for me, the problem i see is players spamming local chat while i try to organise squad. If they kept to squad chat so we can actually hear our own squad while sorting would be helpful.

so the optimal solution would be 6 briefing and 3 squad .
or if that didnt happen , 2 minutes looks the preferable one here.

Wicca, my comment was clear. I find it a waste of time to talk about, and think that every server should be able to set it to whatever they want. If you want to group up and do 1:30, that's fine, but I think it's a thread for the SA forums.

Necrobumping this because the last mayor server actually changed the Squad creation timer to 2:00. (Not because of our vote ... other Reasons)


@SyriousT I think your problem is solved I guess?
