PR 1.4 Crash in Fullscreen
Hi fellow battlebuddies,
I have recently wanted to get back into pr and have since downloaded and installed the new patch for PR.
I ave never had an issue on this pc regarding PR and now it seems i cannot run the game in FULLSCREEN as when i launch the game it will crash and " clean up resources"
however if i deselect the Fullscreen check box the game will run in window mode without hinderence.
Can anyone shed some light on this subject please as i am keen to hook back in.
Regards,
NG

Re: PR 1.4 Crash in Fullscreen
Appreciate the reply mate, however when i click the update dialog box it says cannot update
C:\Program Files (x86)\Project Reality\Project Reality BF2 is the command line its using.
it's saying Error - version is not 1.4.0.0 and hence the update fails.
Thoughts ?
prbf2_1.4.1.0_full.iso is the file i installed having not had PR on my system for some time.
what to do here.
UPDATE - Have uninstalled and am reinstalling 1.4 then will manually patch from there ?

Re: PR 1.4 Crash in Fullscreen
Still cannot run the game in fullscreen without CTD and "cleaning resources" dialog popping up. the only other way i can play is in windowed mode. i can connect and play on a server but if there is a Fullscreen fix i would really like that to be able to enjoy itfpspromotion wrote:NO.. v 1.4.5 is the current up to date Version,

Thank you FPS

Re: PR 1.4 Crash in Fullscreen
did you install direct x 9 c Version?
Windows 10 Needs this because bf2 is old game that uses directx9, newer Computers with win 10 have DirectX 11 only installed or directx12
download here: updated DirectX 9c June2010 download link to new microsoft link
Download DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) from Official Microsoft Download Center

In the PRLauncher, go to Options and then select Reset All Profiles, then reconfigure everything.
try to lower Resolution 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) @ 120 Hz

Re: PR 1.4 Crash in Fullscreen
your chip has embedded graphiccard,
you should have the possibility , some software like example amd catalyst control center
and put the settings that in case of project reality it uses
the better graphiccard
Core i5 2500K graphics - Graphics Cards - Tom's Hardware
he intel i5 2500k has intels newest Hd 3000 graphics. Team fortress 2 and other older less demanding games should run fine at moderate settings with decent FPS. But remember, this is only an integrated solution, so don't expect to be running battlefield at 2500x1600 on ultra
Look through the benchmarks on this : Intel HD Graphics 3000 Performance Review | bit-tech.net
As you can see it is fully capable of running less demanding games like left 4 dead 2 with high fps. Make sure you have enough RAM, as oddly, this thing sucks up to 1 gb of shared video memory on alot of games. Probably due to ddr3 memory instead of gddr5. In conclusion, Yes this should handle any of your needs quite fine.
this link is about changing settings to use the better graphiccard depending on your system
myself i got a new laptop and try tweaking to find a balance between framespersecond/lag and better graphics,

I have been having the exact same issue, but It doesn't matter what my screen is set to. I hope it can be fixed. I've wanted to play this mod for over a decade now...

Re: PR 1.4 Crash in Fullscreen
I'm having the same issue, CTD upon startup unless im in windowed mode. Also i installed the game after not playing it for a year and in that time got a new 1080p. It seems everyone who has this issue has a 1920x1080 monitor and at the moment seems like theres no official fix or patch despite the new update of 1.4.10.0. Please patch this the game is unplayable in windowed mode, ground and scope textures dont load and the menu's are unusable

This is a BF2 mod. We can't do anything when it comes to stuff like that.SafeWeedDave wrote: Please patch this the game is unplayable in windowed mode, ground and scope textures dont load and the menu's are unusable
Furthermore, nothing was changed in the last decade and nothing will ever be changed with the game renderer or the way it interacts with windows. Its impossible to do that.
Almost everybody has a 1080p monitor, which makes the fact the 3 people having the problem using a 1080p monitor a meaningless statistic. It seems everyone who has this issue has a 1920x1080 monitor
Only one person out of the 3 even provided system information for us. Please post system specs.

Re: PR 1.4 Crash in Fullscreen
HUGE UPDATE
I've fixed the issue on my end by simply moving the whole game files from program files(86) to my desktop. Simple as that. Don't understand why its fixed it but it works now.
