Which videocard should I buy for 3D support

Post by Zyco187 »

Hello. Im buying this tv.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TW ... NE3P7C8THK

And my question to you is, should I go with AMD or Nvidia for 3D support. I am wanting to watch mostly 3D blurays on this set but I do have a few games on Steam and Xbox 360 that I was wanting to play in 3D.

Was looking to spend rite around $450 on a video card. So that should get me a EVGA 1070 GTX FTW2 card but Im not sure on AMD, its the 480 i believe.

Any input is appeciated. Thank you!

EDIT:
Just found out that Nvidia has support for 3D in two ways Vision2and app called 3DTV play, http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dtv-play-overview.html that adds support for many 3D TV sets thru buying it from Nvidia. In much the same way that AMD has with thier needed 3rd party app download for 3D support.

IMO, I don't think 3D is worth it. Just a marketing ploy, like most extras added are, that detract from a main purpose.

3D was a gimmick. It's dead now.
