Wouldn't the master server being offline affect the Beta?

Re: PR:Z minimod Presentation
Yes but we're hoping that it will get sorted tomorrow before the Event starts.
Nothing else we can do but prepare for it.

Re: PR:Z minimod Presentation
There is not. You can however spawn and play as admin, which you cannot on dedicated.

Re: PR:Z minimod Presentation
Hey AD, no updates.
Unfortunately after the huge disappointment of attempting to run our second Open Alpha during the Master Server issues, our motivation went down. And we're only 3 that were working on it and 2 are PR Devs while I'm in charge of the PRT, it doesn't leave much time or will to work on other stuff.
Now with the restructure of how minimods need to work within PR and with the constant updates of the mod, it is extremely difficult to keep up. I really miss it and would love to play it again but unless if we get some fresh blood in our dev team to keep it alive, I doubt it will happen.

Thanks, Onil. I hope there will be a new event somewhere in 2017, love to join
. But I get how hard it all is..
If you guys are going to do anything, I suggest to take all the stuff out of the PR directory and instead use a "pr_z" minimod or so. You'll be less vulnerable to changes (in core PR) and you may be able to use the updater as well.

Re: PR:Z minimod Presentation
By the way, I just recently started working on it on my own. I created a mod folder for the zombies minimod in the Project Reality BF2\mods folder just like AfterDune suggested and made it load pr stuff from pr folder like PR WW2 minimod.
I also made it more offline-compatible, that is adding some weapon kits for survivor faction spawn screen, adding new maps with pickup kits and other stuff around the map and adding some escape themed maps, where you need to go to certain area to win the map. I also modified one of the original maps, Dovre survival to have pickup kits spawned in the map, so the map is not completely empty if you play it offline.

So you're going to take our stuff and make whatever you want with it without asking for permission? Not cool!!Viikkasota wrote:By the way, I just recently started working on it on my own. You do NOT have permission to use our content for your zombie mod unless it is only for your own personal use and not to be passed on to anyone else.

I thought you would be happy that someone is working on it.
I didn't say that I was going to upload it for public without asking permission and if/when I wanted to, i would of course ask you and other PR-Z devs for permission first. I know how it goes.

What are you implying?Wing Walker wrote:Did you?
Yes, we got permission from the PR Devs and from the Devs from the mods from which we got content. And we give credits to them in our moddb page.
@Viikkasota - No I won't be happy that someone is working on our mod without talking to us first. There is a difference between joining the Dev team to do something with it and doing whatever you feel like it on your own.
Even if it is for your own personal use, it is courtesy to ask first before you do anything. And I can tell you right away that we're not going to allow distribution as what you're doing is changing the way the mod works.
We never wanted a singleplayer mod, there are already a few of those. PR:Z is a multiplayer experience where interaction between players is what makes it great.

Re: PR:Z minimod Presentation
Well, it is your work ofcourse. But you reaction is quite lame and overreacting imo. Somebody wants to continue the lifespan and progress of a certain mod which he is a fan of. Especially that you said you stopped working on it. And then you go full defense that nobody can touch your work.
Agree, permissionnis ofcourse needed and shouldve been asked and it is your full right to disallow. But by this way of reacting you kill off any voluntary and motivation to continue some beautiful old mod which needs all attention to stay alive for the next ten years.
But yeah, its yours. I do like prZ and also would like to see it again!

You misunderstand... one thing is to continue the work to keep PR:Z alive, another is to make a "new" mod with PR:Z content. What he described is the later...mries wrote:Well, it is your work ofcourse. But you reaction is quite lame and overreacting imo. Our mod only works in multiplayer and it requires the server code to spawn the majority of items in a random way. A lot of thought and work went into how that system works and how the gear/ammo is distributed into the kits. Or how the zombies spawn is based on the location of the survivors.
What he wants is pretty much what other mods already offer, which is a swarm of zombies coming your way so that you can do a turkey shoot with a variety of automatic weapons.
As I said, if he wants to do that for his personal use without distributing, be my guest. But he is not doing so in our name and developing this mod. And that is what it sounded like.
