Update corruption?

So I'm trying to get the game running and before I can connect online, the launcher says that I must update the game before I can actually play.

One thing that I should note is that I tried every solution I could find online and so far no luck.
I'm talking about everything from disabling virus protection and firewalls, reinstalling, manually patching, etc.

But so far nothing works. The game just refuses to work. The version that I downloaded from this site is 1.4.2.0. It says that I must update to 1.4.3.0 to play. When I do though. It will pop up the update process window for a second then crash without error. It will download just fine (seemingly), but applying appears to have problems.

Any help into this issue would be appreciated.

Yup, it asks me whenever I try to run the launcher from the desktop. I always click yes.

And yes, my OS is windows 8.1.

Sorry, haven't seen that one before. No error message? stack trace?

The only few error messages that I've seen were in the following locations:

During installing of the whole standalone. A message popped up saying something like the installer couldn't find any update information and thus the game might not work or might cause my machine problems.

I did get an error message called error 1211. (But this seemed solved when I turned my anti-virus stuff off. )

Also, whenever I did try to launch the main launcher after patching. It gave the error that launcher.exe had stopped working.

As for a stack trace, I'm not familiar with what that is.

Try deleting the files in C:\Users\(Username)\AppData\Local\Project RealityDownloads\Project Reality BF2\ and run update again.

Also check if there's any logs in C:\Users\(Username)\AppData\Local\Project Reality\Project Reality BF2\UpdateLogs
