That seems like a symptom of there only being 6 extra seats in an APC and the squad limit being 8. It really started when the 100 man servers started, before that APC's were very handy people movers.

well the APC's should act as a secondary to your trans/troop trans/ motorized/mechanized infantry because they are usualyl the only fire support that helps out infantry.

by that I mean APC's should transport infantry if infantry's only option is to hoof it(and the distance is greater than 800 meters) without going into a hot zone. so Sareema is a good example of what APC's are needed for fire support - but also have to do a lot of infantry transport because a lot of infantry deployed by boat or air.

as for mapvotes - as said already, newer players and even older players will pick for the one that they know or the map that has more assets(depending on how the server population is structred on that day)

when I used to admin - i'd do 1 popular map vote(sareema, kashan, bijar, aka 4km sand maps)(basically any map that if you go into allchat and ask "map suggestions" they will pop up), a not so popular map (assault on mestia, wanda shan, niujima) and a near-dead map(korengal valley, ramiel AAS, lashkar valley)

and 80% of the time people would still pick the popular map vote, sometimes I'd be able to ask them to vote for the other ones and they would - those were fun! i just wish I saw more of those.

People that try to join a teamwork inf squad or asset squad with no mic and/or instantly grab a sniper or marksman kit without asking

the current servers. free candy van being one of two of the most popular american servers with shithead admins. numerous times i've seen people kicked and myself for just fucking playing the game. for example being kicked for asset wasting if an enemy kills you. half the time i don't even think the admins question !r reports they get and just kick or ban without inquiring. disagree with an admin there and tell them they are wrong and they will scream and kick/ban you. what the fuck happened to the good servers like hardcore gaming and cia

I dislike that civilians have such a minor role in Insurgency today, takes away from this unique mode.
Maybe we could experiment with entirely removing the collaborator state from the civilian, and remove the 50 kills for Intel thing. Allows them to be coherent in a squad too, when they can stay closer together.

1. the game punishes you for even daring to play as a civi.
2. teamkillers aren't punished enough for teamkilling and therefor won't learn to avoid teamkilling. a huge part of PR INF combat nowadays is finding cover in which friendlies can't hit you. Teamkillers should be auto killed, so they finally learn to check their maps. Right now i'm being punished for the wrong doings of noobs and it happens way too often.

I can already read the news in the newspaper:

Transchopper pilot dies midair with full squad because one idiot tried to get into the full chopper and got injured and bleeded to death.

Transchopper pilot dies because one guy got tk'ed by getting out of the chopper.

AR (or all kits) died because bluedot crossed fireline.

Breacher died after placing a c4 on ammocache and one who didn't noticed ran into c4 blast.

Medic tk'ed team mate by accident in heavy firefight and dies and CANNOT REVIVE!

The limitations of the BF2 engine.

If someone gets a hold the BF2 source code they better not do what that guy who found the StarCraft disc did.. instead just secretly leak it to R-DEV.
