Why no smoke dischargers for driver/commander?

Could you explain the removal of smoke launchers from the driver/commander position?

Because launchers you talking about do not exist, vehicles don't have two systems at once. Now gunner controls turret-oriented launchers while driver control hull-mounted ones. For compensation vehicles got more smoke rounds and smokes became multistaged in most cases.

I'm not talking about two different systems but about the turret mounted launchers to which the commander should have acess to because what's the point of having smoke granades assigned to the gunner? He should be busy with shooting at stuff and not switching back and forth between smoke and shells. Same goes for galix frag granades why would a gunner use them if he has the main gun + coax deploying them should be the commander's job.

The point is that only gunner can use turret-mounted weapons due to game engine.

Then how did tank smoke granades work before you removed them?

Their fire direction were depending on chassic rotation, not turret rotation.
Due to engine limitations, commander cannot control anything on it's child objects on his vehicle - turrets specifically in this case.

Therefore it's been decided to remove them from driver\command position along with smoke launchers adjustments for gunners.

can be annoying when you order gunner to pop smoke and they pop it in the wrong direction, though.
