Hardcore Teamwork Nights!

New addition to the PRTA's One-Life events is HT Nights! Reminiscent of the good old days of PR, the pace is slower and the action further apart, putting continuous action on the backseat and bringing forth a strategic and tactical gameplay. A perfect way to play a vast array of maps for the whole evening with the emotional rollercoaster PR can be and not being confined to just one round per event.
Rules

The gameplay is a stricter type of vanilla PR. Respawntimes increased and penalised for deaths, ammount of FOBs reduced to 2, crates worth half the default value, RPs disabled and capping times doubled are some of the main tweaks done to the events. This will slow the gameplay down in hopes of bridging the gap between vanilla PR and One-Life events.

Although the event does not feature sign-ups of any kind, chain of command is to be respected at all times. If there is a CO present, squad leaders must act out his orders unless specified otherwise - Same goes for squad members. Any insubordination is a kickable offense.

There are no other rules (except standard PRTA Server Rules), so the outcome is completely in the hands of the team.

Today is the day! We start seeding at 1600. Come and enjoy some intense tactical gameplay.

Feedback will be greatly appreciated, especially looking for bugs and large gameplay barriers.

About One Life being only one round. I don't think it should be like that. Look in the statistics (if any) and see how long the longest rounds are (for a given player count), add a bit to that time and schedule another round after the first. Like 'games at PRT 1900, 2020, 2140, 2300'. Or just for simplicity say every second hour from start. People who die could go to another server and bail on it when the time comes for another One Life round. I doesn't have to be sophisticated with predetermined map and a mood setting briefing. The One Life aspect along with the set rules are enough.

Will be running next friday again, if not midweek aswell, but i don't expect people to join midweek.

People played on other servers and they stayed there since ours were down, which brings me to the other thing here, CG-Delta:

There will not be consecutive OneLife rounds while I'm in charge because:
1. This is not ArmA, where people wait when they die.
2. People will not come back from the servers they went off to when they died because obvious reasons.
3. Population would go from full first round to maybe 30-50 the next round and 20 the third round, because this is PR.
4. It would get ratardedly watered down. You died, no biggie, come back in an hour and have another go at it with some shitty rambo flagrush tactics that just might work this time around.
5. Every layer needs custom altering with some thought put into it.

I think we did 2 consecutive a week apart - The ammount of no shits give on the second one was immense. It will stay once a month, make it count.

16:00 PRT is such a shit time, for the Europeans and especially for people in the Americas. People are at work/school/uni... Make it way later since it's a Friday!

I don't think that time is the problem, if i get it right - event starts at 16 PRT, but it's not one map being played, but couple of them. So if you want to join later, then you'll still be able to take part.

The problem about this event is simple - it's not interesting. It doesn't bring anything new, so why would you leave populated server just to join this event - which is basically passworded server for people willing to play a bit more tactically?

Perhaps try doing this kind of events, but include map pack into it. Ask mappers to use their maps or if you're lazy - put retro back on.

Back in the time where pr players were not an absolute ADHD shit and cared about teamwork and not k/d and win and rek, this worked very well. Tactical Gamer didn't even change anything, just put a password on to keep the most dumb and lazy people out. (The ones who had no brain to check their website and look for the pass.)
Here i did some minor changes that would only slow the gameplay down a bit and make it less spammy, like the old days when there was public rounds without shooting a weapon.

But people want CoD, and are unable to find the password, therefore its easier for a normie brain to just click on the most populate open server and hurr durr, me play peeurr.

Im moving these events on one weekend per month, when there us more people. We will see.

Alsu funny thing to notice - I make up stories for Onelife and ppl are like hurr durr just play maps fuck stories, so I make something aimple just to play maps more like Onelife and you go hurr durr must be more special!
