was supposed to be posted sept 5 but i didnt
it's a bit of a rant, but I think by the end you'll get the gist of it and how much I love the community.
and, PR is definetly not the only game I actively play, I do a large variety of many games and usually try the ones I don't like a couple of times, I keep my mind open for em.
well, PR being awesome isn't a surprise, but just to share my shallow experience of how other games arent awesome
well I haven't played PR in a month, not sure why, maybe I was burned out but probably because as soon as summer started I did summer school, and after that I just hanged out with friends until about 2 weeks ago (today school started) where I played a bunch of arma 3, war thunder, rainbow six, escape from tarkov, rising storm 2, barotrauma, RTS's and probably some other stuff I forgot about.
well basically now im back to PR, because nothing is as satisfying as PR where you can find 45+ players as soon as you hop in a game who are competent, know what they're doing and aren't ********.
in games like arma 3 or rainbow six i'd have to team up with online friends in order to get anything successful done, and even then most online friends have the notation of "how can I get my PERSONAL SCORE better" rather than benefiting the team. funny I can compare this to the kids at high schools and middle schools who compare themselves to some shit like usain bolt and stephen curry rather than attempting to benefit the team, they play for themselves.
i'm making general notes here because of course there's some people out there that are alright.
anyways, i couldn't really play many arma 3 servers without random bullshit in side comms, random bullshit in the squad about "I don't want to revive people, i'm not playing medic!" and letting the rest of the squad bleed out. but PR doesn't have that bullshit, that's because of the community(for both games, the community causes the shit of arma 3 and the best of PR)
in a game like war thunder, the gameplay mechanics are garbage because it's f2p it is quite grindy, coupled with awful flight models. meanwhile in a game like PR it's based off of achieving cohesion within a squad and team, cooperating to win. in WT it's about getting that new unlock.
and talking to some friends who said Rising Storm 2 was shit because there were no unlockable weapons made me realize how sometimes the gaming community can be cultured to believe that unlocks are what makes a game garbage. also RS2's direction was an honorable one but didn't work out as good as it could've been.
back on topic, the game of PR is what serves as a base for PR's community(and thus developers) to be great.
hell, even the admins on PR are so active that we expect a lot from them here, but going to another game it's so tough to find an admin that is even half as good as PR ones.(not saying that there aren't shit admins, because there ARE SOME SHIT ADMINS..)
well, as mectus11 said: "PR has become a niche game for a niche type of community/player" which is most likely why this community is literally the least toxic, least bullshit inducing etc of communities in general. it's why we can expect a good team 99.5% of the time
i can expect to have 45 players who are willing to work together without bullshit of "ewww I'm not going to pick medic because i dont wnat to revive people".
this is also probably why many of us shit on new players, who's background is filled with unlockables and selfishness where they desire to be the best sniper on the team.
why did I write this? well i couldn't focus on school work and wanted to make some content.
I just thought about making this into a youtube video since I hadn't done much for it, but that would take too much effort(and perhaps not fitting of my channel) and i've got to go back to school.
edit: Why I enjoyed PR so much has always puzzled me and I think I nailed most of it here.
summary: PR is the perfect balance of great community, and great gameplay.
for example, the RO/RS series has great gameplay but a bad community(atleast not in it's intended form)

A YouTube video would be awesome maybe some kind of PR-Tribute. This is by far the best/most polite and team orientated community I've ever had in any game.
