In need of color texture(s)

Need something along these lines, because its a map color texture it would need to be able to tile without being too obvious.

Granted most of them are meat for high detail use but most can be modified for colour use and some can be straight out of the tin :)

BTW I'm sure I don't need to tell you this Rabbit but for now, best to only do a temp paint of the terrain or better yet, just use the satellite photo as your colour and when you've finished sculpting your terrain, paint it with something like GeoControl :)

I dont have geocontrol, and no interest to get into it. Zeno did run one for me before but since then the hightmap has changed and I didnt love the colormap.

I also know about the site and even tried a few colormaps from them but they usually come out pretty shitty. https://www.textures.com/download/grassdead0102/49041

Ye the problem with GeoControl if used in its standard way, is it only paints down flat colours which kinda suck, especially for a green map. The way you want to use it, is to paint down colour textures, rather than flat colours, but to do that takes quite a bit of work and ingenuity. Vapo did it for Black Gold after I suggested it and the results where so much better than standard GeoControl flat colours :)

But there is also L3DT too which in this case would probably do a better job in some cases and that paints down colour textures as standard, but takes a bit of work making a new climate etc.

Ye, the problem with that texture, for a colour texture, is there are far too many variations in colour with it having a mix of grass and rock in the same texture where you only really want one or the other in a colour texture. Could possibly be made to work as a detail texture but to have the rock be grey would mean having the grass be coloured in the detail texture which would mean when you switch to low detail, you will loose the colour of the grass and end up with flat grey at a distance :p

Yeah, I scrapped that idea, which is a shame because I think it would be a perfect fit for the area.

Anyway, I am less and less into game design no matter how bad lito wants it to be otherwise. Learning geo or relearning l3dt (which was a pain in the *** to import a hm then run a colormap rather than just do it all in 1 go) is probably not going to happen with me.

Ye, for now I would focus on sculpting the terrain and once its fully sculpted, I might be able to paint it for your with L3Dt, unless you want to go the total hand painted approach which is cool too.

well I mean, its imported, sooooo, unless you want it run though geocontrol and erosion, its done. I mean I "added" things like goat trail, from my reff, but that will be more definable with statics.

Right with that HM wasn't much I could do since wasn't really any detail to go off but here's what I've got and could do more on the climate too, some bits of it aren't that great right now but not much point without more on the HM. They need inverting before splitting too btw.
