Lan Server Not Working

I have been trying for a couple days now to get a lan server to work for me and my brother but when one of us makes the server and the other cant find it in the local server list no matter who makes the server. We are in the same room on the same internet connection. We have tried using online and offline accounts. I was wondering if anyone might know how to fix this problem.
