Server: PRTA - Winter Map Event
Time/Date: From 18:00 PRT Friday 12th January 2018
to late Sunday 14th
Winter is here!

It's again time for snow battles: PRTA continues the tradition of winter map event.

Welcome, welcome, to the annual winter games; and by winter games we mean Project Reality's winter map pack! The days may be getting longer but we're still in the depths of winter. It's time to download the winter maps again, don your snow boots and trudge across the frozen landscape to bring death to your enemies in the form of suppressive fire and frag grenades. Just try not to freeze in your foxhole!

PRTA will be hosting the following maps throughout the weekend and all are welcome to join the fun, frolics and festivities:
  • Operation Snowstorm by [R-DEV] Rhino
  • Northern Lights by [R-DEV] Amok@ndy
  • Arctic Lion by [R-DEV]Pleym
  • Dovre Winter by [R-DEV]pleym
Rules
Standard PRTA Server Rules, so the outcome is completely in the hands of the team.
Map download and setup instructions

  1. Download PRTA Winter Map Pack installer.
  2. Execute the installer.
  3. Follow orders.
  4. Download Arctic Lion ZIP.
  5. Extract the content of the ZIP to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Project Reality\Project Reality BF2\mods\pr\levels" folder - unless you have installed PR into some other location, then extract to "your_PR_folder_path\mods\pr\levels".
  6. If you're not familiar with extracting a ZIP archive, here's instructions for you.
  7. Check that the map folders are in levels folder.
  8. Join the PRTA Winter Map Event server!

Yes, you have to reinstall. Although our mappack only has 1 new map which is arctic lion, you might get away with installing over, but I havent tested it.

The files are ready, we are just preparing how to distribute them ;)

Wasn't that map planned to be added in the game like 2 years ago after Curry did the map test event for it?

Guys, And I will repeat this, please give gratitude to Temexter for this event, who really stepped above and beyond ensuring both quality and testing was done up to standards.

He really spent some nice evenings into the dark hours of the night getting this off the ground.

Also, the mappers who made this, thank you for letting us use the files you provided. Thank you mineral, and the developement team for allowing us to run this event.

did it all and waiting for the start :D GG :)

by the way, map pack installer try to install map pack to "program files (x86)" , but my project reality was installed to "program files" ((64-bit windows 10)) , so people should look which folder the game located ;)
