Deployable Anti-tank emplacements?
I was wondering if fobs will get a anti tank position something like like the American 57mm and will mortars be placeable when WW2 releases?

Re: Deployable Anti-tank emplacements?
not the worst idea, but wouldn't the american M1 57mm be more of a.. common AT device?
ediT: actually I think you made a typo because I looked up this intruiging 47mm gun and it doesnt exist x)
i think right now we're using ZIS-76 or something of that sort, atleast they didn't look german OR american; that's for sure(for the carentan ones, omaha beach had pak-40s if I recall+mebliblibluvleuvl battery)
mortars aren't a bad idea, but it seems a little odd having squad leaders make them as deployables.
mortars were extremely portable, and 60mm mortar teams(2 mortars, 6 men(2 per mortar 1 spotter 1 lead) could deploy and move out in a seconds notice.
I would say keep them on maps for now, and have squad leaders able to have something.. heavier.
maybe a 75mm pack howitzer!
(although in my honest unrelated opinion, we should just play some more WWII and take a little break from thinking of the 'final' release)

Re: Deployable Anti-tank emplacements?
We're currently using the ZIS as an M1 cannon, because we don't have an actual M1 model and the ZIS is what came closest
.
Not sure about deployable ATs. If we do that, we should limit the handheld AT, otherwise it's one AT fest out there and tanks already have a hard time. Still, something I'd like to personally see is more deployables in WW2

Re: Deployable Anti-tank emplacements?
would be happy if we be able to deploy some handheld AT, analogically like in main PR
ofcourse without ability moving, but with rotating like SPG

A PaK and whatever the US used would be great as a "TOW".

Now, this isn't exactly a M1, but we use it as one, and it is the closest thing we got. It is the DEFA D921 90mm, which itself was based on the British 6pdr but only thing really different is the tip of the barrel and recoil system. IDF mod gave us this and I retextured it.
I am pretty sure you are welcome to use it if you like? IDF shares stuff with us, and PR lets IDF use a lot of things, so it is only fair to share stuff back with you.

Great to see modders here exchanging assets in a friendly manner

Is the team going to add the DEFA D921 90mm for the next version?
I would be awesome to have... just limit the amount of LAT Kits

Forgotten Honor 2 has something closed to this but it's a crate that you follow around and it's a special kit to move the emplacements.
That's probably the only way to move them around in the BF2 engine I assume.

Not sure what this means, is there a video that shows an example? Just curious.mectus11 wrote:Forgotten Honor 2 has something closed to this but it's a crate that you follow around and it's a special kit to move the emplacements.

Re: Deployable Anti-tank emplacements?
I actually think it's perfect. 2 crates from a logi + the time it takes to get it set up means you might as well assume it was towed to the field by the truck. Attaching another object to an object in order to move it around is not easy, and probably ends up being clunky and buggy even when done correctly.
VTRaptor: but i only stopped for less than 10 secs and that fucking awesome dude put 2 of them
]CIA[ SwampFox: well my definition of glitching is using an enemy kit to kill the enemy

You cant tow anything behind a vehicle, Rhino has tried it, it just doesnt work. But sure, AT cannons can be deployed from a crate from a truck.
Lakinen, is that your model?

lol, no I haven't[R-DEV]Mr.VdHeide wrote:You cant tow anything behind a vehicle, Rhino has tried it
Some people have tried it in the past and failed and while there possibly is a way of doing it, I very much doubt there is a decent way that will work every time, all the time on in a public MP game.

Re: Deployable Anti-tank emplacements?
I think best solution is:
- make small guns (PAK 36, M3 AT, le.IG 18 etc.) deployable like TOWs,
- bigger guns (PAK 40, Flak 88 etc.) placed on the map,
- vehicles with AT guns (M3 Halftrack with 75mm, Sd Kfz with PAK 40 etc.).
There are a lot of different weapons and vehicles that it's possible to find alternative for everything.

I am totally agree with Sd Kfz with a cannon mounted on it like the ones in combat mission normandy game if you have played it you know what I am pointing to. but that ones have a huge caliber cannons with short barrels.

Re: Deployable Anti-tank emplacements?
Instead of making anti tank being towed by jeep or truck, why we don`t make it look like that. My idea is that for deploying anti-tank gun squad leader needs special (anti-tank) crate, that would be cared by special vehicle(jeep or truck). Anti tank crate would be able to reload in vehicle every 5 or more minutes, like repair station. That way we would get impression of towing anti tank gun. Number of deployable anti tank guns would be 3 or 4. It would bust infantry anti tank capability, and maybe if it works right, we could try something like that whit ATGM on modern maps.

Thanks. Also, I should point out that it would be much easier to make then what some people suggested.HeneraLuna wrote:nice idea as it could work like a repair station
