Sudden loudness on mumble

I'm sure everyone has noticed but from time to time mumble craps out and the person speaking suddenly becomes extremely loud for a a fraction of a second.
This is an old problem, and I haven't seen a thread about this yet.
Is there any way to fix this/will it ever be fixed?

This is a known issue with the codec mumble uses, its not only an issue with PR. We are definitely not going to change this codec.
