You probably are. As nothing changed. The last time we changed graphic settings is disable the ability to use 'low' effect settings.

Slightly out of topic but has there actually been some changes that have done something to the graphics? I haven't been able to find time to play since the last 2 patches but my friend told me he noticed the textures looked better.QuickLoad wrote:yes i think it's just you unfortunately because if anything graphics went up

not much, but you can no longer use low settings so you're forced to have the game look betterPatrickLA_CA wrote:Slightly out of topic but has there actually been some changes that have done something to the graphics? one thing is for sure, the game looks better than it did a couple years ago, which is through a bunch of setting changes, optimization. of course, you can always put mods ontop of it and have it look even better.

For a moment I thought something was off and I've settled on larger screen area being the 'culprit'. Before I used 1024 1280, indeed on YT videos that are 4:3 the textures look less stretched. It's just higher rez probably requires some sort of 're-scaling/sampling' algorithm for optimal results.
I think nvidias 'Dynamic Super Resolution' setting has something to do with it but I don't know how it works exactly.
Edit: Actually I'm convinced DSR has something to offer in this scenario of larger resolutions, upon reading user experiences dotted about on the web. (Example).
Maybe Rhino can explain how Dynamic Super Resolution works?

Re: Graphics/texture quality looks lower than before last update...
For the record, I'm not certain but I too thought I noticed a subtle change at some point in the last few years, at least regarding player models. I vaguely remember it being easier to identify friend or foe and even what type of kit they were equipped with at intermediate ranges without use of any optics. I never could figure out what had actually changed, if anything. I always thought something changed after a random patch but I don't have any empirical evidence. Could it somehow possibly be from maximizing my settings including anti-aliasing from slightly lower levels after I upgraded computer components? If the official story is nothing was ever changed, is it possible that some other update is the culprit? Were view distances or anything similar ever altered in recent memory?
