Just put fonts_custom.zip in your content directory, without modifying any other file, and you're good to go.

Does that means that you are finally gonna put this on the official PR release?

Just to make sure, Tbob the file in the first post is the latest version?

Did you ever figure this out?

Issue I found:

vs yours:

The font becomes way smaller. Can that be fixed?

Yes the link there is the most recent version, I haven't really touched it for a while.

For the chat font its the spacing is just the way the game renders it For some reason the same font is spaced differently before and after you send it. I think the effect just gets exacerbated when using higher resolution or more rounded letters. I could try just up-ressing and enhancing the original font or using a more square font so it wouldn't be as noticeable.

The loading screen font size was just a matter of trying to optimize the texture size - I even used the same glyph for zero and O to make it fit at that size. It would be another 128 KB to do it the original size without the mirroring effect or 384 KB extra to do it in the original size with mirroring effect.

Well if you have the time and interest to look into the first issue that be great. Just seems like the last thing left for this to be a 100% amazing upgrade.

On the map load font,so is there a reason why you scaled it down? Can the fonts zip be only a maximum size hence you decided to save on that one? If there is no real reason imo scale it up.

Also, seems the 'i' could use better spacing here?

As you can see I'm nitpicking here, but I'd love to see this available officially (with your permission) using a toggle in the launcher or just as standard font. So I want to get it as good as possible to convince the people who need to do that ;)

OMG TBob you are about to be featured officially on a PR release! Can't even imagine the honor it must be to release work of such quality that is integrated into main PR and so you take a place among Battlefield's greatests modders in history.

Without your fonts I feel like I am playing the game with level 3 hyperopia without glasses so this makes me specially happy!

Thanks Mineral for considering this and please keep this open minded approach to community created content

I just did it at that size because of concerns expressed to me about the additional texture memory usage. Aside from that, making it larger is not a problem.

Yeah, there are some instances where spacing still needs to be adjusted - it looks like that one in particular might be a kerning issue.

And of course I'd be happy to see it included by default.

Yeah I'd definitively scale that one back up then. If any spacing issues can be investigated and fixed over the next weeks that be great! We in the team don't have anyone with the time or patience to do this work atm I'm afraid and I do feel it would look much better with the last spacing issues solved.

Properly sized map loading text done. Only ended up needing 2x size and not 4x.
