FPS problem in PR

Post by Uncle_Remus95 »

Hi. I noticed a fps problem ive been happening in PR. I have a pretty decent rig that can run most recent games on high settings.
GPU: GTX 980
CPU:AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0 GHz (4.2 GHz Turbo)
RAM:G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) + G.SKILL Sniper Series 16GB (2 x 8GB)
OS:Win8.1

I run this game on max settings. Most of the time I dont lag, bug in dense areas with a lot of people My fps can drop to as low as 30 fps. I find it very strange for such an outdated engine to give my computer so much hardship. are there engine specific limitations that make itso that the game cant use my resources at full potential? Is there a patch for this kind of problem?

The engine is limited to single thread only, and your CPU has terrible single-threaded performance. Try toggling the "No Lods" option in the launcher. If the option is enabled it should stress the vram more and the CPU less.

I see. So the game basically only uses 1 core of my processor. Can overclocking solve this issue?
I tried lowering the settings but the lag still persists when around a lot of players. So I guess there is no existing patch for this then?

Overclocking could give you a slight performance increase, but won't solve your issue.

WTF you call that kind of clock rate terrible performance? Recommended for PR is 3.2 Ghz, he is well over that. Can you explain what you mean exactly, because i know you know your stuff, so there must be something else to it.

For every one having Nvidia GPU and Intel CPU, first look to force GPU choice for pr.exe (not bf2.exe)

I have 650 GT and it run 1080p on high with more FPS....

No he means to force PR to use the Nvidia GPU instead of the one integrated in the Intel CPU.

edit: You can change the primary GPU to use in your BIOS settings if I remember correctly.
