Has it happened when players switched weapons or just looking into any direction?
switching weapons dont affect fps. but looking at any direction does

It happens quite without any logic.
You may get normal FPS, then you come to a tree -> drop to 15 -> you walk by the tree -> still 15 and won't get back
other times it would get back from 15 at a random moment
Other times it suddenly drops when you look at other players.

Not depends on sound quality/hardware/software settings

FPS bug seems to be silently addressed in the latest update. Thanks!

I haven't noticed any changes, it's still dropping. Plus, there's no mention that it has been addressed anywhere in the changelog.

I have experienced this problem too online, FPS goes from like 90 FPS to 10-20 FPS.

Oddly enough, not on COOP mode (yet).

Might be a code issue most likely. I think I know what the issue may be, will try some things for the next patch.

First of all, thank you for developing and maintaining this awesome game!

I have also experienced drops in COOP mode on almost every map. I think another user (cheese) is also experiencing the same drops in COOP.

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you pinpoint the exact issue.

I noticed the same. Co op has a better chance of giving me playable FPS than any pvp map with the same amount of units.

Don't mention it :)
Thanks for the offer though.

Seems like one possible cause is the HUD having too many stuff like TIS (Thermals), BUIS (Backup Sights), Optic Shaders etc updating a lot which has reduced FPS levels by around 50%. Code would need to be looked at and optimized etc.

But the issue is the random drops of FPS in given directions. Might be TIS, that's just a guess.

I tried googling this but i didn't find any satisfying explanation.

What exactly is the difference between CPU clock rate and single thread performance.
Shouldn't they be one and the same? They seem to be roughly related, yet there are some CPUs with higher clock rates but worse singe thread performance than ones with lower CRs.

Finally, what are the best indicators a CPU will run PR well? STP, CR, or something else? How important is cache?

IPC (Instructions per cycle) is what you are missing. You can have all the GHz in the world, but if your CPU can only calculate a tiny amount of instructions each cycle it will still be garbage.

To add to this:

1. This does not explain sudden drop people experience with 1.5 as that stuff has been in game for ages. It slowly gets more and more tho as we add more weapons etc which makes things worse.

2. The FPS increase was from 36 to 56 looking at empty Fallujah. If there were players, effects, vehicles etc. it would not add 50%. This stuff always has the same impact no matter where you play or where you look on a map

3. It is hard to fix. Fixing it will require quite some hacking to move parts of the logic out of PR and into the Launcher. I dont think there would be any in-engine solution for this.

So we will look into it, but it will take time and might now even add that much when a lot of stuff is going on.

For me also very low fps around 10-20 almost unplayable in some maps is there some way to maybe allow lower graphical settings? I see some setings are greyed out and unselectable??

Doesn't work for me.
It seems like the problem starts some time after starting to play, and sometimes alt-tabbing back and forth helps just for a couple of seconds.

I too am getting lower(10-20 fps) frames since this new update, however i'm grateful that I can play the game as in 1.5.0.0 I couldn't even start the game without crashing.

Setting the priority of PR to high aided with 3-10 fps boost, and removing anti-aliasing gave a solid 7+ fps boost.(together, on some maps I would be getting the same good ol 50+ fps. but in general I would be getting 50 and then dropping to 37 particularly if I looked at the long side of the map)

I tested this while shadowplay was in usage.

There are a few causes for the low FPS in 1.5, I wish it was simple.

Mats is working on a workaround for one of the engine's systems that are now lagging because it has so many configurations. that should help a bit.

Im not sure its strictly an fps issue. Testing kashan coop on MEC airbase I get 35 fps in console but it really looks worse than that.

back off on your steps, disable one by one the new features of 1.5, i thing the problems is about geometrics or 3D model or textues, but some is wrong.
