For the love of Jebus, please make Tanks/APCs back to normal!!
I know its not realistic, that tanks in reality have 3-4 man crew, there's the driver, the commander, yada-yada-yada. But man, it ruins, RUINS gameplay.
Tanks have gone from a formidable death-wielding machine to a blubbering, awkward nothings! I'm not even afraid of them anymore.
Nightmare scenarios. I was driving an APC. I pull up to a flag which had just been capped by the enemy. There was a FULL helicopter, dead center, so close, just sitting there, with some infantry on the flag, just chilling. God, it would have been a massacre. It would have been great. I stopped to give the gunner a good shot, and he doesn't shoot. The guy isn't in my squad, so I'm just typing furiously for him to just shoot something. He just sits there. Then the guys notice me, jump out of the chopper, and start shooting me to hell. After about 10 seconds of hoping for some action from the gunner I bail out to try and take them out by hand. I take one guy but there were like 7 or 8, so I die. As I lay dying, I see the idiot is still looking around inside the APC, as some spec ops calmly set C4 and blow him up. OMG! I wanted to kill myself.
Even if the 2 persons are communicating its so hard time the driving plus shooting without the gunner missing horribly!
Then if your by yourself, you shoot, you start driving, u wanna shoot again, but it doesn't shoot because its reloading! Or so you think. Most of the time you just can't tell!
I know your trying to promote teamplay, but when it comes to this its just overkill. Also, having the tank be a 3-man crew takes away from the ground-pounders numbers. So please, for the love of all that is holy, for the sake of gamplay, turn tanks back into a 2 man crew! driver/gunner + machine guy on top. please!

Well i only enter tanks and apcs with squadmates
If the driver/gunner isent on my squad i bail out you should do the same
If you dont have a gunner then dot get a tank
I also dont fly on Hellos from other squads/dedicated pilots
They never left me where i want
When i do need to go into somebody else Hello i go spec ops and parachute
People usualy do dumb things with transport hellos
One time on Qway river my clanmate was squad leader and grabbed a transport Hello i said to him fly like 600 altitude and we all respawned on him being spec ops to do hallo jumps
We grabed all the flags on Qway river doing that and nobory could shoot our hello down
Then on the next round we tried to do the same thing but a "dedicated pilot" got the hello
we asked him 3000 times to fly high so we could parachute
The guy got pissed off and crashed the hello on the floor (because we wasent bailing out on the place he landed)
And he managed to get the next hello that respawned waited for our squad to join him and did the same thing

Red Orchestra have problems even with vehicle VOIP and vehicle commands.
The only way to be successful with multicrew tanks is having people you trust and can communicate with. Like in real life.
So get a squad with people you know and can talk to, and your experience with multicrew tanks will change a lot.
Even more in 0.41.

npsxbox ive had alot of success in the new tanks/apcs.
if you have a non squad mate in the gunner seat, wait. keep pressing bail out every 10 seconds.
the guy WILL eventually get out, he will get bored.
If any of you are ever in a gunner seat, and the driver says bailout, then DO IT PLEASE!!!! Your just a useless fatbody sitting in a gunner seat when a drivers squadmate could be doing a way better job.
If you want to use APCs, get in a squad called ARMOR or APC and JUST DO THAT!!! practice makes perfect, and now it takes alot more skill to use the armor effectively, which is a good thing.

yes, the thing you lacked was communication since you both where not in the same squad. This mod is about teamwork, and to use these tanks to there full you need teamwork.
What i do is if the guy aint in my squad, is i invite him into mine, then if he dosen't get in it, i just take him on a senic rout as far away from the battle as possible till he jumps out or something along thous lines cos if he dosen't get into your squad, hes not a team player, and he needs to learn
But the power of what tanks and APCs can do will be tweaked alot in the next version, so that if you do work as a team, they will be a huge part the battle like in real life

we need ppl to do voice overs... it was hard enouth to find guys to do the brit voices (which we still aint really got btw) and just think how hard it will be to get Asian and chines voices... + who is going to be able to understand the chines and Asian ones anyways?=|Azeitona|= wrote:The Devs can try do a comunication system like we see in Red Orchestra. The numbers keypad has arrows. For exemple, whe I hit "8" the guy says "go foward", when I hit "4" or "6" the guy says left or right. I know its just a copy from RO, but it works so good.

i never had great problems with the two-seater tank - i often really enjoyed it, and also often, the guy that was driving/shooting was not in my squad.
usually it should be enough to spot targets, and if the gunner isnt a noob he will see that you´ve spotted those targets and take them out (or hold the tank so you can take them out).
appears to me that you´ve had bad luck but anyways, i plead for not changing it back, i find it´s working quite nice atm

It's just like anything in PR, without teamwork it's not going to be effective in any capacity. Tried to take/defend a flag alone or with someone from another squad?....pointless. Its the exactly the same thing, people will realise that with time.
I think creating tank crews was another huge step to getting rid of noob lone wolfs who wait 3 minutes at main base for a tank to spawn while his team gets slautered so he can ride into battle himself and rack up some points.
EDIT : Before 0.4 I hated getting killed by tanks because I knew there was no teamwork or THAT much skill involved. Now I don't mind it at all because I know the guys in there that killed me must have been switched on.
