PRTA Server Downtime - Friday the 13th of April 0900 UTC

http://prteamwork.com/threads/prta-serv ... utc.28949/

The Project Reality Server, teamspeak and forum will be down tomorrow for a duration of time. If the downtime for some reason stretches out in time feel free to use our discord @ discord.prta.co or visit the realitymod.com forum for your daily community dose.

All events that we have planned for this weekend will go forward as planned, and as such we are all looking forward to seeing you at the one-life event, and on teamspeak.

Do not be alarmed that this is the 13th of April, nothing bad will happen that's just superstition, but if this is the last message you read from our community, blame Wicca.

Dont question the wikipedia! Just because it reports different things on different languages does not make it unreliable source!

Disappointing start to a round of Silent Eagle AAS Standard today, as Russians we had our first flag rushed even though rushing is against the rules. People were warned but it seemed some of them didn't listen to the warning so our team lost initiative to take over the Lake cap.

Image

Unless the German team is allowed to rush because they had para-drop spawns? Is that what that exception means?

Rule 4.3.4

The problem arose because the para drops went nearly over power plant (the first flag)

Most of the team was there, anyone not listening got kicked but most the squad leaders pulled away after getting warned.

IMO the para drop on that layer is way too far north, it skips all the German flags tbh. I understand that the rushing on that map is a exception, and I also understand that para drops on the enemy's first grey flag is shite for the enemy team.

4.3 Rushing exceptions are defined as follows:
[...]
4.3.4 Your team has paradrop spawns in the beginning on this map, layer and layout.
So yeah, I assume it is counted as exception.

Ah, Bluffer was first :p

Our tracker is temporarily disabled due to an unknown technical issue, it will be back shortly if we are lucky. :)

Apologies for any issues this may cause.

The issue is resolved, further the lag issues we encountered yesterday were related to the PR Container running out of storage space.

Please try to play more maps other than the usual Saaremaa, Khamisayah, Kashan and Burning Sands rotation.

Would love to see more of Dovre/Dovre Winter, Ulyanovsk, Xiangshan, Nuijamaa, Sbeneh, Marlin, Yamalia, Kozelsk, Qwai, Route, Hades Peak, Shija Valley and Vadso. I personally like these maps but other people's opinions vary.

Maybe Vietnam sometimes.

Allright, thank you! I will forward this to our admin team so they can consider them as options in the votes.

I am also of the opinion the AAS vs INS vote is redundant, and you can just slap a ins map into the mapvote sometimes, what do you think of that?

Anyway, I also think the maps you listed as overplayed, is overplayed since they are the most popular maps in Project Reality. So for the sake of maintaining the population you might see us make votes with these maps since a lot of players enjoy them, myself included.

The goal is always to keep the server population high and as long as possible on the server.

Those maps overplayed? When was the last time Xiangshan, Hades Peak or Ulyanovsk were played, are you mad?

People don't enjoy playing the same maps over and over everyday, you keep your population by being the full server first and not crashing when populated.

A full server won't just die if you run Xiangshan or Ulyanovsk..

An incident happened today that was annoying:
We had two ins maps in a row today, 3 if you count fallujah west, it was Al Basrah then Marlin is, we got an AAS map after it was Dovre Std. Mid-round we had a gamemode vote that won 37 in favor of AAS while INS was on 5, then we had a mapvote of all INS maps.

Please don't run gamemode votes if you're not going to abide by what people voted or just don't run map vote at all.

This is the best solution for playing overplayed maps IMO (depends on admin team tho).

Oh no, I ment the maps you said were overplayed, not the ones you listed as suggestions. :)

Indeed I do not like AAS vs INS votes..

I would also like to suggest something:

If you skip the AAS/INS vote please don't throw in 2 AAS maps and 1 INS map in the vote. The people who want to play AAS are then split up between two votes and the INS map is going to win even though more people voted for AAS.

Yeah, we made that agreement generally in the teamspeak too. It would certainly be split unevenly.

I would personally play quite a few AAS votes only, until I throw a INS into it, and then having 1 or two wouldn't matter since you gotta shake it up a bit for the insurgency players.
