I hope the DEVs are paying attention!!! I've seen several videos like that when I was in the Army. I've even participated in live fire exercises like that to demonstrate to the troops what would happen if you chose the wrong cover to hide behind. I’ve been shouting from the rooftops about the SMAW weapon but no one would listen. I’m glad you found this video to demonstrate what I was talking about.
Now maybe PRMM will get really down and dirty when the DEVs see this video. PRMM is the best mod out there by far, but it could be better. PRMM beats BF2 any day.
LONG LIVE PROJECT REALITY MOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well at least until it can be ported to BF2142. After BF2142 goes to the bargain bin
Later gang
Great vid. Someone should make this a sticky

Another great idea would be to send this video to EA and dice, so they can see how off base they are. Weapons is vanilla BF2 are a total joke. All the other mods out there do a much better job at modeling weapons then vanilla BF2. But PR 0.4 is the best by far! They aren't all the way there yet, but they certainly are the closest to REAL weapon modeling.

P.S. Someone please make this a sticky or something for all to see.

The AK 47 does do more damage, because it's a 7.62mm (30. cal) and the SAW is a 5.56mm (.223 cal). I'm not sure but I think the game models the AK 74 which is a 5.45mm (.22 cal) bullet. Both the AK-47 and the AK-74 look the same at a glance, but one is made to fire 7.62mm rounds and the other is made to fire the 5.45mm rounds. The AK 74 (that's right I said, seven four) has a VERY similar ballistics track to the M16A2. The M16 is slightly more accurate. But only slightly

Yeah man that would be great if they could add that. Lots of the building in bf2 and PR 0.4 are concrete not cinderblock. Concrete is a lot tougher that bricks or cinderblock. I just wanted to add that incase they are considering it

They know very well that they're off base. It was never their intention to create an ultra-realistic war game. They we're developing a modern war themed arcade shooter from the beginning and leaving realism to the modding community.rico11b wrote:Another great idea would be to send this video to EA and dice, so they can see how off base they are. "Ultra-realistic", ha more like Jokelistic... If it was never their intention then why use or model real world weapons, vehicles, and uniforms at all. Why not just make every thing up from scratch. Invent their own names for weapons and vehicles. It was their intention, they just fell short. When the realized they were falling short they just said, "Oh it's not our intention to make a realistic game, we'll leave that to the modding community". What a cop out after the fact. When I play a game that seems realistic, looks realistic, and sounds realistic. Then I expect most every facet of the game to BE REALISTIC. If not then they should have made a Sci-fi game instead. Instead they make junk and then wait for someone else to create a REAL game from the limited engine they chose. I'm a gamer, the only reason I moved to BF2 from Desert Combat was because of the promise of something REALLY NEW and Super Cool. The only NEW and COOL thing to be found is this mod PR 0.4 This mod could have been created on the bf1942 engine. They're both using the same game engine. Only when EA realized that they were falling short did they start saying, " we never meant to have an ULTA-REALISTIC game. BS! At least I got BF2 on the bargain bin for 15 bucks.

Actually, EA Games, from the beginning, had always said in regards to this that they are just making a modern warefare themed arcade style game. "Fun gameplay will always come before realism in EA's official Battlefield2: Modern Warfare game" and they would leave it to the mod community to alter that if they wanted realistic gameplay.rico11b wrote:"Ultra-realistic", ha more like Jokelistic... EA didn't "fall short" in fact they did an amazing job of creating a game that allows the general public to go "running and gunning" with SOME basis of reality but not very much at all. EA made the game in hopes to APPEAL to the "modern war game" fans. Those who like to kill hundreds of people per round using an M16... go lobbing grenades relentlessly and pretty much 'pwn" people while using pre-existing weapons from real life... that's their target. Not us.
We want the real weapons AND the reality. I understand you have your own opinion but you should get the facts before forming it.
Wasn't me.

They're '47's, note the distinctive "banana" style magazines. They're only found on 7.62x39 weapons in the AK series (AK-47, AKM, AK-103, AK-104 etc...)rico11b wrote:The AK 47 does do more damage, because it's a 7.62mm (30. cal) and the SAW is a 5.56mm (.223 cal). The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
Many thanks to [R-DEV]Adriaan for the sig!

BF2142 IS a mod 0.0, so basically, you can't mod a mod. Besides, reality mod can't make an already fake game real!!!. Weapon damages should be balanced to all realistic values possibles. This would have people hide behind for cover and be more strategical in doing so. It would create an Americas Army atmosphere (if you've played the game) Although, I won't go specific about the game, I'm just saying we need some real values. The pistol right now should be more damage. Good video post.rico11b wrote:I hope the DEVs are paying attention!!! I've seen several videos like that when I was in the Army.
