NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO It sounds like a good idea in theory, but it could get annoying when your running around for a good while while as support and after 8 kills you get gunned down. You respawn and choose support at that moment you get randomly hit by artillery and die. Then you respawn, wait, get the kit, and as you are running an "idiot" (on your team no doubt) sees you, mistakes you for an enemy and guns you down. No more support for you.El_Vikingo wrote:I've been thinking about a way for people to value their life a bit more.
It's to put a number limit on each of the limited kits... if you don't understand I'll explain:
For example you want to be sniper, but you're really cr*p at sniper. You die, you spawn, and get the sniper kit again. Then you die, and spawn another time, and get the sniper kit for a third time.
But on the fourth try, you're not allowed anymore, because you die too much with it. This would stay that way for the rest of the round. That way players would value, not their life, but their kit. They wouldn't want anyone to steal their kit.
Maybe this could use a little bit of improvement, but I hope you get the idea.
Kit-limiting is A-OK

But that would be unfair to people that just plain old suck (like me) or the people that will run out in the middle of the street to revive someone only to be cut down by bullets whizzing through the smoke (also me)'[R-CON wrote:[PIT]dizzy']It could work if you base it on K : D and/or deaths per min.

ha! There were a certain group of players constantly spamming to get sniper rifles in a game I was recently in. Yet our team were on a tight timed map and everyone attacking was getting raped by a good sniper, yet our snipers didn't appear to be taking out the enemy sniper that was good. Either from their position or taking the easy kills we weren't receiving the support we needed. We never even managed to take the first flag and I do believe the ones constantly taking the sniper rifles let our team down horribly. The next round when sides were reversed, we got hammered by the other team, because again the same players were spamming for the sniper rifles and not helping with retaking or defending flags we were losing.

I love the Kit limiting.
There are some problems with it still.
Im finding that the insurgents dont have limited Kits. Im also finding that on most levels, the SVD, under the class Hunter, is available to anyone who wants.
On the GB extration level where they need to extracted the pilot (not street, the other one) 80% of insurgents choose the Hunter kit. Infact, this is apparent onb most levels. Perhaps they should be allowed the Sniper as an unlock? instead, replace him with the Machine gunner maybe? (like on street).
Also,(this one is from the players this time) i find myself being shadowed by team mates. I sometimes find that when im, say sniping(rare, as i know how many people do it, so its not nessecary for me to, aswell), i have an ontarage of about 1-2 other players following me. At first i thought they wanted to help me out some how. But they never gave ammo. They never Had my back. They never cared, really. When it really hit home was when i had a medic follow me on EJOD desert. I was shot, and was bleeding. i called for a medic an he keeop repeating 'No Sir'. he waited until i bled to death. Then i asked for a revive twice as standard practice. then, the cheeky bugger, dropped his medic kit and ran off with my sniper kit! Thus must have happened over the days about5 times since i realised.

would it possible to have the squad leader only request a kit? i think this would promote more of a team play atmosphere with in the game, or how about it is alocated by rank? the rank issue won't be in an issue with me i normal play an assult kit of some sort any way, with the odd request for heavy at. and its not like the military would give the higher end weapons to some one with little or no experience over some one with greater proven skill. this would not mean that the lower grunts would not be able to use them, but would need permisson from their SL to use them.

Nothing should be done by rank on PR because, face it, some people like me just don't give a shit about it, I have ABR installed, but it doesn't do anything, ranked server or not.'[DVB wrote: Avalon.ca']would it possible to have the squad leader only request a kit? i think this would promote more of a team play atmosphere with in the game, or how about it is alocated by rank?
