Do some non-Americans around these parts think that April Fools is a thing throughout the month?
It's called April Fools Day - not April Fools Month.
It is a 1 day thing. On the first of April. That's all. Anyone doing this past that day is just trolling. Don't feed the trolls.

Re: Project Reality: BF2 v1.6 Announced!
...after more than year you bring out an update of the announcement^^
I don't care whether it comes out tomorrow or in 2 years. but that's how you scare off the last players.
it would not be a problem even if it never comes, but incite something all the time and than delay it again and again but tell the players that it is coming soon (whether in the game or in this forum) is silly after more then a year.
I can understand everyone who leaves pr.
not because he doesn't like this game, but because he feels fooled.
such "jokes" only work for a short time and you frustrate the players with such gags...and this is more harmful to pr than saying that there will be no more updates.

Re: Project Reality: BF2 v1.6 Announced!
What delays? We have never given an official release date. We hoped we could release ww2 years ago but unfortunately we didn't. So occasionally we would post a highlight, blog, newspost to keep people at least a bit informed of where we are at. But never did we state in those a release date.commingsoon wrote:...after more than year you bring out an update of the announcement^^

And as we have done for the last few releases, once we are extremely close to a release, we announce it. We tell the community what to expect in this release. Create a bit of excitement for both the community but mostly for ourselves to fix the last few things and get things rolling. The team wanted to post this announcement for that exact reason.
Then a while later we will post the changelog so that those interested can learn all the changes.
And then we release.
This entire process happens without setting a release date. Something we have done since 1.0 I think. No release dates. Why? Cause we don't want to have to post 'delay updates'. Cause we are a group of volunteers that have no idea when we will have the time to work on the mod. We have learned by now we are terrible at managing and following release schedules. So we deal with it in our own way.
Take it or leave it, nobody makes you read these posts. Play the game and when an update is there you'll know.
And if you can't take a little joke about the endless development cycles of our major releases, then the issue is mostly within your own character that you somehow feel angried by a joke of a free mod that is 15 years old. We will release in 2 hours.

Re: Project Reality: BF2 v1.6 Announced!
you missed the point. ^^
it's not that difficult to understand...
keep going and there will be fewer players behind you. "soon" and "1.6 in 2h" was funny in the first year, now the players feel fooled. you can talk it down with a shitshow, but it doesn't change anything. only makes it worse.
Pity.

Re: Project Reality: BF2 v1.6 Announced!
I'm confused, are you made because they didn't announce it and release it same day or announce it with a set release date? Because I can't think of a time they have done that. Generally with the announcement its about 2-4 weeks after that the release happens. Not sure if you were born stupid or work hard to be.commingsoon wrote:you missed the point. ^^

Re: Project Reality: BF2 v1.6 Announced!
it's about devs that spread on the servers that 1.6 comes out in two hours. or that you always hear the same answer if you ask how long it will take... "soon"
you don't have to give a date. but then you should communicate that and not play with the hope of the players for years.
this joke is funny for a handful of devs, but hardly anyone else. you lose more and more players.
and now let the shitshow begin ... ^^

Re: Project Reality: BF2 v1.6 Announced!
The community started that joke, we just embraced it. Anyway, it seems I rather not have players such as yourself 'behind us'. Just makes for very annoying sighs and annoying remarks to hear behind me.0100011000101 wrote:it's about devs that spread on the servers that 1.6 comes out in two hours. or that you always hear the same answer if you ask how long it will take... If you feel entitled to think we should use to follow some strict ruleset to communicate with the public and can't joke around, even though we are just a bunch a PR players that decided to help with the mod and are nothing different from anyone else in the community, you are a just a confused person. If you then also feel the need to make a new account on the forums instead of just using your own account to make your sad remark, again no need to stand behind us now or soon™.

Re: Project Reality: BF2 v1.6 Announced!
it was less about me...
who says that I have multiple accounts or have ever posted something here?
if so, it could be because I could foresee in which direction it will go.
but if you need that then you're right... then I'm just confused if you mean that.
that just doesn't change anything about what I said.

Re: Project Reality: BF2 v1.6 Announced!
The amount of negativity coming from your posts is completely unwarranted. You weren't lied to, and you weren't played for fools either. Given your attitude you probably have a hard time believing this, but the team respects the player base and we want to give them something worth investing their precious evening time in.commingsoon wrote:keep going and there will be fewer players behind you. We were saying a release would happen "soon" because that's what most of us thought. We already had the Beta to see if there was anything extraordinary that would prevent us from releasing, but that was not the case and had the team decided to "yeah, that's good enough - shipt it!" like one of those two trillion Early Access Games that are plagueing the games industry right now, you could've gotten your WW2 right then and there, presumeably.
The team however decided against it, only 3 maps were ready, and a lot the things that you're about to toy around with in the upcoming release would've been missing. With the delay that we allowed ourselves to have because we weren't happy with the content as it was in the day
ensured that the WW2 factions you get to play now are more complete and better than ever. More weapons, more vehicles, more maps, animations and models getting an overhaul where necessary, etc., the list goes on for a bit, believe me. Simply put, the 1.6 WW2 you're about to see is leaps and bounds beyond of that of the WW2 Beta.
---------------------
From the way you're writing this it seems to me as though you are under the impression that the team just sat on their arse and were maliciously keeping WW2 away from you and not working on it, all the while lying to everybody about an impending release. This way of thinking couldn't be further from the truth. 1.6 is not only a massive update because of a new(or rather, old) theatre of war being added, but there's a plethora of stuff that the team was working on during that time.
The PR 1.6 in 2 hours was just a meme spouted by our community members as a kind of "token of love", and it was usually cleared up right away that it was just that, a joke.
I'm happy to hear that you're holding us to the highest standards of professionalism("How dare you make a joke about something so serious like PR 1.6's release?!?!!"), but this is just a game, a hobby. Something the team does voluntarily when their own lives allow for it. You're not losing anything by anyone taking the time they need to finish their projects for the release. So, please, give it a rest and enjoy the update once it comes out.
Edit:
Well, in case you didn't before that's cool I guess but in case you did, there's no reason why you wouldn't be able to speak your mind unless you were banned already. We are - again, much unlike what many want you to believe - not opposed to our community member's view points being opposed to ours.who says that I have multiple accounts or have ever posted something here?
if so, it could be because I could foresee in which direction it will go.![]()
What you're doing however is that you're being dishonest through and through. Much like graysun earlier in this thread(and also on Discord), a number of completely wrong claims were brought up - so much so that I can only assume that it was meant to discredit the team. If what you're saying has some merit to it, then you shouldn't fear us banning you. But I'm quite confident that you're aware you're talking bullcrap while attempting to stir up others against the team. So it's no wonder why we wouldn not allow you to continue to post here. Your sole purpose is disruption, and that's not a point worthy of discussion.
