Just the kevlar stuff, yes. But the chest plates will stop anything upto a 7.62 round, including some of the AP rounds, but not all of them (the sabot style round with explosive penetration most DEFINITELY penetrates it)
'[R-PUB wrote:Maistros']Actually, EA Games, from the beginning, had always said in regards to this that they are just making a modern warefare themed arcade style game. "Fun gameplay will always come before realism in EA's official Battlefield2: Modern Warfare game" and they would leave it to the mod community to alter that if they wanted realistic gameplay.
EA didn't "fall short" in fact they did an amazing job of creating a game that allows the general public to go "running and gunning" with SOME basis of reality but not very much at all. EA made the game in hopes to APPEAL to the "modern war game" fans. Those who like to kill hundreds of people per round using an M16... go lobbing grenades relentlessly and pretty much 'pwn" people while using pre-existing weapons from real life... that's their target. Not us.
We want the real weapons AND the reality. I understand you have your own opinion but you should get the facts before forming it.
Point made, point taken
BF1942 thru BF2142 all use the same engine (with some updates of course), so everything after BF1942 has fallen short. Seems that everything after BF1942 was a mod of some kind. Just because they posted about the game being more of an arcade style before the game was released doesn't mean anything. They could have known for months before anything was ever stated, that they fell short. BF2 falls short period! If it weren't for mods like this one, this game would have been dead long ago. BF2 on it's own has indeed come up short. But all is not lost, at least we have this really cool reality based mod to come home to. Thanks fellas for making PR what it is. America's Army is a really cool game, but this one is better to me. At least that's the way it is for now. We could go on complaining and defending BF2 for some time now, but it ain't worth it. Let's just get to playing a REAL game, this one. Long live Project Reality!!!!!!!!
Kevlar should be left to cops. Plate and kevlar mix yes but, if the bullet goes through, it would most likely tumble and cause more damage. Therefore making the blowout more deadly. Or not. But interesting Vid. So, the moral of the story is run for concrete or never be seen.
Note: the banana clip. Banana clips are avail on ALL AK assault rifles, not just the 7.62 variants.
Its a Magazine, not a Clip. by "banana" Bob refers to the older metal magazines with the grove running parallel curves to the edges of the mags, the magazine on that 74 is a plastic magazine which generally hold .22 caliber rounds.
However, the game models are Both AK 101-which does not have similar ballistics to the M16, it has IDENTICAL ballistics since its 5.56x45 nato- and type 56 Chinese made copys of the 47, the 47 sporting the older metal 7.62 magazines. Not so much of an issue since the PLA will be dumping the AKs as soon as, but there you go.
Note: the banana clip. Banana clips are avail on ALL AK assault rifles, not just the 7.62 variants.
^AKM. Note the very curved (ie, "banana") magazine
^ AK-74M. Note the much straighter magazine.
And now, for your information, clips are used to load magazines and magazines are used to load guns.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
Many thanks to [R-DEV]Adriaan for the sig!

Night
wtf are you talking about?!!? They are TOTALLY not the same engine...
And as for the mods, the mods make up for less than 10% of the entire BF2 population... HARDLY ANYONE PLAYS BF2 MODS. (unfortunately there are too many stat whores)
Wow... you really checked out the facts before posting didn't you... Kids these days...

Yes they do!!!! They all use the same REFRACTOR 2 ENGINE!!! Of course there are some changes and updates, but it's the same engine. I thought they were different engines also until i learned recently that they are using the same engine.

I have loaded and fired all of these weapons. Don't waste your textbook Rambo **** on me. The term "banana" comes from the fact that the "magazine" is curved like a banana. It’s a nick name given to the magazine because of it’s appearance. And you can use the term clip for magazine. The terms are interchangeable. If we are in a firefight, and I ask you for a clip, are you going to take to the time to nitpick with me over whether or not it's called a "clip" or "magazine"? As far as the "clip" is concerned, it's actually called a "stripper clip" which is used to hold the rounds together while they are being pressed into the magazine. Go join the Army or the Marine Corps, and you will actually get you hands on these weapons if you are lucky. Lucky enough to get into an MOS that requires you to become familiar with these weapons. That way you won't waste time repeating **** that you read about a weapon you have probably never seen or touched in real life.
Some one stated that they may be using the AK 101 in game, but the ballistics are not EXACTLY the same as the M16. But they are very, very close. I had forgotten about the AK 101 until now. I think it would make more since to use that one in game instead of the AK 74 or the AK 47.
^ you're wrong on almost every point
no amount of personal attacks will change that
a clip and a magazine are not the same
an AK101 and an M16 will have identical bullet ballistics
all enlisted soldiers receive firearms training
I think he's right about the banana clip referring to the curved magazine of the world's most wide spread assault rifle.
And every soldier I know nitpicks about the clip/magazine issue. Not that it would come up in a firefight, since they would all be soldiers and thus be requesting a magazine.
I have yet to shoot an M16/AR15, but very familiar with the AK-47 based weapons. Alot of fun. My uncle(a veteran) also noted the similarties between the modern manufactured AK type weapons and the older variants he encountered in his time in the military, while we were at the range a while back.
Not being a rifle historian I don't recall what rifle, but someone on a forum posted some pics of bullet clips being loaded into a bolt action rifle. The clips loaded directly into the rifle which did not have a removable magazine.

Read the first paragraph chief. Any retard can write in a wiki... Don't believe all you read on the internet. This link is to the official EA site.. "ALL NEW GAME ENGINE"... that's proof enough for me...
Besides, the rest of your statements, including "BF2 would be dead without it's mods" are just....well...retarded.

You are an idiot! I'm not gonna get in a pissing contest with you about it. Yes the weapons in questions use IDENTICAL bullets, but the weapons themselves are different. An example would be that the rifles have different barrel lengths, and the m16's are made to tighter tolerances. I quess you played a little game, and now you know it all don't ya? You certainly don't seem to know anything about weapons so I will conceed to your greatness as well. I'm not gonna waste anyone time pissing on this. I suggest you don't either!

Your'e an idiot as well as the other knucklehead! I can change one thing, just one thing on a game engine and call it an "ALL NEW GAME ENGINE", but that don't make it so. But I quess you all can play game read some **** on the web and assume that you are know it all, real life combat veterans. You make me laugh. Enough of this already. I conceed to your dumbness. I suppose EA said it's an ALL NEW GAME ENGINE then it must be so. Lol. Surely they would never lie. There are several sources that state the engines are the same Refractor 2 engine, I just gave one source. You believe whatever you want to scooter!!!
Whatever!

You can buy an M95 or the atleast a variant of one. Several manufacturers make .50 cal rifles now. My friend has one made by Armalite and it's the most impressive weapon I've held. Suprisingly heavy. THen you just have to buy a jeep.
