Steam Login Issue

Hey, i'm brand new, downloaded the latest update, i'm stuck at the login with steam windows, it opens my chrome browser, i sign in via steam, and i click the popup to open with the launcher. But then nothing happens it only says please check your browser the whole time even after i signed in on the browser
