Combat engineer cant repair VAB ( french armored personnel carrier)

I take out the repair kit and left click and nothing happens. Also i want to know how to use the repair kit. Before you say read the manual , i did read it and all it says is that combat engineer can repair light vehicles with the repair kit. Problem is , it doesn't say HOW to use it . please help, thanks because taking out the repair kit in front of damaged vehicle has no effect( the vehicle is smoking and waiting 20 seconds with repair kit out does not improve the state of it. Thanks for helping , i am dumb.

The VAB is an APC, not a light vehicle (think Humvees, Land Rovers, etc.), so the repair kit can't be used on it.

Combat Engineer: Specialist in explosives and demolitions. Equipped with Anti-Vehicle Landmines, he is the designated person to establish mine fields or to defuse them. Be mindful that mines are activated by both allies and enemy troops! He also comes with several explosives for demolitions and can repair light vehicles.

edit: hold the left mouse button, but im not sure if the _sp version of the engineer kit has auto repair like the _sp medic

You'd need to hold the left mouse button to repair.

You can't repair vehicles that aren't jeeps.
