100 Player Limit

I don't know what the ramifications are of this from a performance standpoint so this post does not address that, keeping performance to a max is crucial. This post is purely gameplay feedback.

I remember playing PR when it was only 64 players. I remember the rush of excitement I felt when the first coder from Oslo broke the limit. I could feel the chemicals in my brain lighting up with creative thoughts. Breaking the seat limit has made me feel the same way and is making me rethink my gameplay with 100 players.

Gameplay is much more full with 100 players than it was prior. Could they be fuller?
Sometimes though, filling up all the assets is still an issue. Could more players keep them full?
With 100 players, bad players or squads can make a game go by too quick. Can longer spawn times address that? As building a fob reduces a squads spawn time, is there other teamplay related actions that could reduce a squads spawn time if they are playing well and reduce it if they are playing bad? I recall reading longer and longer spawn times depending on deaths was already in the game.

128-166 would be really nice to test now. With longer spawn times.

Maybe in the future, we'd need to optimize first and break the hardcoded 9 squad limit (which once again seems like to be a HUD limitation)

9 squads is ok. Just allow 10 members per squad. Or Maybe 10 squads (using numpad 0 to speak with squad 10 + moving squad chat to B as default).

130 players. 128 + 2 for reserve slots :)

that will not work, people (like me) use numpad 0 instead of any other key because it is easier to press if you fly with a keyboard.

That's the only time numpad 0 sees action though, other than that I speak with my mouse thumb keys.

Apart from squad limit - what's the theoretical maximum capacity for a server? Is it limited anyhow?

256, maybe 255
Anything more is absolutely impossible

Its likely that you can also have 256 squads per team, they're networked as 8 bits.

That would be really cool. I'm also all for squad sizes of up to at least 10 players in a squad.
(For one thing, that would make having a reconnaissance groups of 2-3 soldiers soo much more feasible).

We dont have the playerbase for more than 100p servers.

Gameplay will become a mess especially on 1k or 2k maps

Then it would be some servers with above 100 players with 4k and bigger maps. This isn't the issue.

But personally I would love to see full 200 server on tiny skirmish map :P

5-6 hours a day there are around 150-200 players total. Also: events exist and are important. Also 2: I think PR has potential to gain more popularity than it is currently enjoying.

The servers that are full are usually full for awhile. You could add 12 just as a simple test to see how that would affect servers and interest in PR and I'm telling you that it will just fill up even more servers to 112 because people will come flocking back. Between more slots and the vehicle slots. The vehicle slots wasn't enough, still armor and trans sitting around almost EVERY round. Even 6 more guys on a team could be an extra 2 tanks being used and a huge difference in gameplay. Just TRY it.
