Unable to exit UAV as commander

I was unable to get out of the uav seat on Beirut as Russian commander after staying in the seat untill it reached the landing stage when it was out of fuel. I was able to get out of the seat after having the UAV loiter over a location.

You can replicate it by not leaving the UAV seat untill it is in landing phase.
