Would it be possible for vehicles to drop weapons in addition to ammo crates?
For example; A techie dropping an rpg-7 pickup. Or a humvee dropping a machine gun.

Nope, game is designed to work with pre-configured kits, can't assign weapons to kits dynamically.

You seem to misunderstand. I know that fully customizeable kits are impossible in bf2 engine. I'm asking if it's possible for vehicles, to be able to drop pick up kits. Like they drop crates, repairs, bridges and ammo. For example: I am a taliban with an ammo techie and my techie has an option, in addition to dropping me ammo, also dropping me a kit. Such as; PKM, RPG, SVD, AA, Etc.

.... So just more specific kit requests?

So like a blufor style apc kit request but on some kind of insurgent vehicle?

Not quite.AlonTavor wrote:.... So just more specific kit requests?
Hypothetical situation. Say I have a techie. Instead of dropping a crate. I scroll down from nothing active, passed ammo crates, to drop kit. And poof out of the back of my pickup truck appears a brand new pickup kit. This pickup kit is usable like any other kit. But it can only be spawned when dropped from a vehicle. Nothing is requested, the kit already exists and is stored inside the vehicle, just waiting for the player to spawn it in game.
Ever play battlefield hardline? In the game you could pull weapons from the trunk of your car. Same concept. Different execution.
Edit: I hope this gets the point across

Issue is that then you would go reload your techie and in no-time you got 20 PKP Pick-Up kits. Or you need to limit it again and then link the vehicle inventory to the kits in use in the team right now, both are very odd from a gameplay perspective.

Kinda is, but I believe having a discussion with players before putting it in a suggestion is actually a good thing. Suggestion forums should be like a to-do list kind of forum for devs and community coders/modders only or discussion for devs only.Nate. wrote: PS: This smells like a suggestion outside suggestion forum![]()
Because putting up a suggestion just to wait and never see it appear without someone telling you anything (Whether it was denied or ever seen/considered in the first place) makes people stray away from using the suggestion forum.

I think that being able to drop an RPG-7 would be a bit too overpowered?dcm wrote:For example; A techie dropping an rpg-7 pickup. Or a humvee dropping a machine gun.

How would you do kit limits with this idea? Cause like Nate said, you could just rearm them.

Its possible but we will avoid implementing it directly that way, since we know of a rare issue with kit spawners. If I had to, I would probably implement it by making a new ObjectSpawner after the car fires a dummy projectile.
But this all feels pointless

I think I figured out a way to balance it out.
The kit spawned from a vehicle, can not be resupplied from repair bay. But it 'returns' to the vehicle after the kit despawns. Once the kit is in use on the battlefield the vehicle grays out the kit. If said vehicle is destroyed, then the previously spawned kit does not return to a newly spawned vehicle if the old kit is still in use. Or you could just make the vehicles non-respawnable and non-resuppliable.

I wasn't aware that the INS was having problems getting a hold of RPGs?
Why not just have every kit with an RPG that has 10 rounds?
