It is closed until missile is fired. The missile ignition destroys the middle part. In 1p this wont matter as you never see the rear, but in 3p would be good to add the middle part.
ok, thanks for the reference, this is really needed.I didn't realize that the back cover was there. yeah maybe I'll close the hole for 1p view because it can save verts and texture, after all it won't be visible at 1p
Plus, probably you're gonna need to bake light shadows onto diffuse texture of the model, since bf2 refractor engine isn't so good at simulating them in-game.
- make that paper sticker not so bright, right now it looks like a shiny display monitor or something.
- desaturate a bit and darken yellow strip at the tube's back, it looks like glowing neon strip
Looking really good. Cant wait to get it in game
As Hokunin said, adding some dirt and scratches can help to make it feel more natural. Just dont over do it. They never seem to be very beaten up in pictures.
Could you post the UV for the tube? I guess its a square one? Maybe could combine both sight and tube into one rectangular UV to reduce amount of materials needed in game.
Mineral: TIL that Wire-guided missiles actually use wire

ok thanks, I've done what you said this is the result:
it looks like there is no need to add a scratches on the tube missle because it's one use

No need to remake anything, just give the tube some rearward tilt and scale it to the size of the helmet it sits next to on the soldiers shoulder. It appears to have some cap to remove on the front before firing.

Nice work, like the NLAW I think it could do with more dirt and wear, especially the targeting unit which is used time and time again and would have much more dirt and wear than the launcher tube
