How to edit existing 3D models?

Post by ismaelassassin »

Hey there.

As some of you may know. I have been working on 3dsmax 2017 with some of the 3D models of PR. As i dont have the knowledge to create a model from scratch :-P so i decided to go and modify existing ones because those already come with heriarchies and textures applied. So far i have modified some kit´s meshes and, as i showed in another thread, the Sterling SMG.
I have removed, added, and edited several vertices, and unwrapped the UV map to fix it a bit as sometimes when i remove a vertex it ends up a bit messy. The main probem with this, is that when i try to export with the BF2 tools, it doesnt work.
I know the tools work when i import and export any objects without modify them, but when i begin to play with it, it doesnt even tell me what went wrong sometimes. Could it be the UV map that doesnt let me export?

I thought i could have just edit some vertices, renamed the object and simply export what ever changes i made. Seems like i was wrong!

I would like to know this question aswell, and i don't think there is a way to get the models from bundlemesh.
Since i am trying to make Mobile Gun System, it would be better to add it for the existing stryker.

Only way is to use the 3ds max tools. However for the stryker you would not even have to do that as we the export scenes for it. Then again those are also 3ds max9. I am sure we can provide you with obj or similar format for usage in Blender

That would be great indeed, i got a feeling the Mgs hull armor is a slightly different for the turret though.
