ping goes from 70 to 1000

Post by Cheerio »

I have nothing else running whatsoever. No one is using up internet, and there isn't a problem with other games.

For the last days I have seen this happen, where every 1-2 minutes, my ping which is 70, (perfect) then goes to 100, 200, 300, then 1000.

And when it hits 1000 it says "there is a problem with your connection" for a few seconds then drops down to 70.

the cycle then continues.

I honestly have no clue why this is happening.

Other players ingame have been saying this is happening to them too.

Ping on scoreboard is very reliable. This isn't a bug with PR. Ask the server to help you debug this issue if you think its your connection to it.

Could be a DDOS honestly, it happens sometimes for me that I see people's ping spike all of a sudden indicating that the server isn't receiving the packets as normal.

Many players have found same issue on VG Server aswell, we are all on teamspeak and suddenly someone completely starts lagging and even disconnects from the game server while hearing him on teamspeak clearly all time. It has happened to many people and even one of us reinstalled whole windows, which did not seem to actually help.

VG has had a few DDoS attacks this past week. Protection always kicks in fairly swift, but it usually results in crashing the process or degraded performance until protection kicks in, but luckily not the crashing OS.

When these things happen, it can be helpful to ask if others are experiencing issues around the same time, to determine if it is just you or everyone.
