Bring Operation Archer Back

Hi guys well the title says it all.
I don't often make thread, but I do believe I had to stand for this one so here we go!

To start I would say that "Archer" like we used to call it is like that ex girlfriend we all had that you lost and only once she's gone you realize how cool and good she was...missing it to the point of existential crisis. Ok that escalated quickly... sorry.

What I mean is that ok stats showed that it was the least played map, but it's more loved than some others by the global community and now that it's missing everybody wants it back, that's in human nature.

I've been inquiring all arround since my (and many others) beloved Archer disapeared of our life after 13 years of a "round once there and there..."

And believe me most of the players I know (and I guess I know quite a lot since v0.6) and mostly "vets" do really miss and want that map back.

So after 8 months of "battlefields talks" I decided to make this thread hoping our voices get's heard and I do believe our opinion matters to you. You'll make a lot of people happy trust me!

Yes some changes should be made also later on, just bring it back as it "was" for now PLEASE.

some idea I had was to make bluefor unscopped on it to balance the general steamroll that happen with good bluefor team when balance is not on the menu.

Thus now with the faction layouts "unlocked" I can imagine some really cool other factions fighting in this unique map:

FRANCE vs TALIBAN
BRITS vs TALIBAN
US Army/USMC vs TALIBAN
or even
INSURGENTS vs TALIBAN

Or making some Cool Skirmish/Gungame hapening on the castle's and it's hill or near the construction site for seeding round.

And for the question of removing a map we could officially vote for a map to "kill" if ever it is still someting needed (For ex. we got a seasonnal map back and a new map now just recently)

For me maybe Nuijamaa (probably my least loved map, but I still love it in some ways so...
or Dovre "summer", Maybe Kashan.... Mestia... Qwai.... But it hurts me so much to name those PR anthology maps... and NO! don't ever touch Ghost train!!!

I hope my thread got posted as I do think Operation Archer is a "legacy" map that still need credits and to be available for the taking, and that my words there as one of your most dedicated players since 0.6 reflects the sorrow in which you put a lot of us 8 months ago.

Archer was one of my favorite maps. I still have no idea what justification they used to remove one of the best maps from PR. OP Archer was one of those rare maps that few hated. Yes it had it's problems(scaling cliffs was always a *****). But they could be easily solved with slight map tweaks.

I really want this map back with expanded insurgency modes as you suggested. Taliban vs Insurgents sounds freaking amazing. We need more AK vs AK factions and maps. I'd love it for a properly armed modern day faction to use AKs. I dont think PR has one faction that uses the AK47 (or derivatives) as their primary rifle and has body armor.

If you want it, go and remake map for new standards.

Old Operation Archer map is terrible gameplay-wise, massively glitchy and looked like shit. I understand though it caught players for its "cool" factor.

I vehemently disagree with smol shrum. Archer was a fun map. However it has the same problems that all hilly/cliffy maps have. Terrain. It's a ***** to mountain goat up anywhere on that map. Especially as taliban. I do believe that all mountainous maps need to have their terrain smoothed out some what to make the climbing experience less painful. My only other gripe with archer was that it was too big for taliban inf. The canadians could easily camp the tali main exits. And cripple the taliban defense. The canadians had such superior mobility advantages with air and armor that taliban needed the forward castle spawn. Not to set up defenses, but to move out and place fobs in strategic positions.

If archer was to be remade. The castle and village areas should be retained. But accessibility increased for infantry. The mesa west of castle and south of village, really should've had an internal cave system for taliban to use, to shelter themselves from persistent enemy bombardment.

Yes please bring that map back. I also would like to see more vehicles for INS side on that map, because getting to places was always a pain in the ***.
