Confused about the server licensing.

Me and about 10 friends want to run a PR private, passworded server for a game night. I've looked through the posts and licensing terms and I'm confused if I need to apply to run a server without using Hamachi or something that. Can anyone explain it to me? Really confused about it.

For a private server you don't need to apply. You can find all you need in the game directory. Friends can join via IP. The server will not show up in the browser.

Only need a license for public server that everyone can join.
