[Help!] How to get 3ds max

I've been looking through the forums for the last few hours about getting 3ds max 9. I found this thread - https://www.realitymod.com/forum/showth ... p?t=151050 - saying that you don't need 3ds max 9, with a link to here - https://www.realitymod.com/forum/showth ... p?t=145720 - But that just seems to be an addon for 3ds max. I downloaded the file anyway but didn't find anything in it about 3ds max. If I cant get 3ds max, can I use Blender instead to model and then do the rest in the object editor of bf 2 editor? I saw a thread that said no, but that was a while ago I think, so I was wondering if anything has developed since then. Anything is useful and thank you.

You can model in Blender but export to game can still only be done in 3ds Max with the addon you found installed, thus you need to port from Blender to 3ds as well.
