Q-5 Fantan
Ok, so I just flew the Q-5 for the first time today. You guys (devs) can't be serious about it right? It's the plane equivalent of the Mi-8! It's got no defense against other planes, all it's got is 4 bombs and a cannon, and it's not even that fast! Why don't I just fly the Su-30? I don't know if it has enough pylons for AA missiles, but you should make it more survivable, as right now, it probably requires a fighter to cover it at all times.

As far as I know, it was EA/DICE that modeled and coded it that way, since it isn't our model. *shrugs* If you don't like it, then don't include it in your map. Or tell the PLAAF to get off their asses and replace it with something that can carry more than 2000 kg of air-to-ground ordnance without the drop tanks.Griffon2-6 wrote:Ok, so I just flew the Q-5 for the first time today. Yes, unfortunatley it does, that flying piece of **** is actually in the game, I liked the J-10 why did you take it out? Now China doesn't have a fighter. Is it left in any map?
Oh and replace the Q-5 with the SU-32 (keep in mind that BF2 is in the future so thay may have already done this)
Sukhoi Su-32 reportedly now being
considered for purchase by the
PLAAF. Its long range and large
weapons load would greatly extend
patrol and strike capability. There
are also rumors that a new Russian-
Chinese stealth bomber will be based
on this design.

The Su-34 is closer to the F-15E in capabilities, so it would be a replacement for the Su-30MKK, and the MEC already use it. The Q-5 is fine, according to sinodefence.com:
So the Q-5 could carry 4 bombs, 2 rocket pods and 2 air-to-air missiles. It's not as heavily armed as the A-10, but it is the closest equivalent the PLAAF has.WEAPONS
Fixed weapon include two 23mm Type 23-2K cannon with 100 rounds per gun in the wing roots.
The aircraft has 10 stores stations to carry up to 2,000kg dispensable payload. There are two tandem pairs under the fuselage each rated at 250kg, and six under the wings each rated at 500kg.
Fuselage stations can each carry a 250kg bomb (Chinese 250-2 or 250-3, US Mk 82 or Snakeye, French Durandal, or similar). On Q-5E the station is used to carry a FLIR/LT (infrared and laser targeting) pod.
Inboard wing stations can carry 6kg or 25 lb practice bombs, or a pod containing eleven Chinese 57-2 (57mm), seven 68mm, or seven Norinco 90-1 (90mm) or four 130-1 (130mm) rockets.
Centre wing stations can carry a 500kg or 750lb bomb, a BL755 600lb cluster bomb, a Chinese 250-2 or -3 bomb, US Mk 82 or Snakeye, French Durandal, Chinese indigenous 500kg LGBs, or similar.
Normal bomb carrying capacity is 1,000kg (2,205 lb), maximum capacity 2,000 kg (4,410 lb). Instead of bombs, centre wing stations can each carry a 760 litre drop tank or ECM.
Outboard wing stations can each be occupied by a 400 litre drop tank (when the larger tank is not carried on the centre wing station) or by air-to-air missiles such as PL-2, PL-2B, PL-7, AIM-9 Sidewinder and R550 Magic.

Because we have been working on it since the beginning, before Euro Force came out and before EA allowed us to use their content, and IMO, our modeler has done a better job.Mekstizzle wrote:I didn't know you could use BF2 Expansion/Booster pack models. If that's the case, how come you're making your own Challenger 2 model? There's already one in Euro Force.
