No Unity in the Community

With more people banned on the HOG server than actually play there how can there ever be unity in the community ?

Will HOG ever give everyone a second chance and clear the ban list?

With the Steam Authentication it is easier to track troubled players and see who is using different names/Accounts. Why cant the HOG clan use the new system as an even better overwatch system instead of using it to reinforce their ban system.

Basically they can over-watch on a level that was never do-able before and instead they just use it to lock down bans even more. Instead of using it for a greater good.

True power is not banishing the player forever for doing something bad but showing them mercy and teaching them the right way to play.

Discuss here how you feel about the unity in our small community and how HOGs over use of permanent bans affects this.

I have a feeling that every possible comment and point of view that's going to be posted in this thread, and there won't be many, has already been discussed more than few times during past 15 years. Not saying if it's a bad thing or a good thing, it's just fact of life in this small community.

On the topic itself: It's impossible to say are we in this situation because of or regardless of HOG's ban policy. PR is small niche game. It was niche game when I first played it in 2007(ish) and today it's even more so. Niche is by definition quite hard segment to live in and there just isn't too many people out ther who share the same vision and fit inside the boundaries PR set for them.

The boundaries PR set for players ? Many players currently in the community are only banned on the HOG server and are able to play on all other servers. Facts are facts and you can see something is wrong with that. The true problem is the punishment system they have in place. Things you can get permanently banned for on HOG will at most earn you a kick or a warning on other servers. This creates the most rifts in the unity in our community.

What I'm trying to get at here is HOG re evaluating the use of "Permanent Bans" now that they have tools to truly track all players and do an admins job in a proper way.

1. HOG remove all permanent bans

2. Set a maximum time for bans to say 6 Months? ( With the exception of Hackers )

3. Use the new steam authentication system to police players in new way, now that you cannot ban evade anymore it will be administration in a way that it should of been from the start.

It is perfectly possible not to be perma-banned on HOG.

Who does or doesn't deserve a second chance is up to HOG admins and I would guess can be decided on a case by case basis? Feel free to contact them about you or your friends' case or to discuss a full ban reset.
