Medevac/Casevac

Post by ClaudioPolez »

This is just an idea, it may not be practical or even desirable but I was thinking about casualty evacuation last night playing on Muttrah.

I was a littlebird pilot and medic, when I play like this I like to pick people up, heal them and drop them off. Obviously not very realistic and it's not going to be possible when the pilot class comes into effect.

So I was thinking what if another job for the transport helo pilots was to act as a medevac/casevac. You could have some sort of healing tent/building/magical castle at your main base where bleeders could be dropped off to get healed. This could also be a task for transport land vehicles and boats on less helo influenced maps, or for teams with less air transport.

I can think of a few positives for this, when players are injured they will need to collect at maybe a predetermined spot for pickup or something, this would help people keep their lives, but also would help the enemy by removing them from the combat zone so you wouldn't necessarily have to kill an opponent to have a negative impact on the opposition. It would also be a bit more realistic than the current healing bag thing. However, it would also be very annoying.

Obviously this is just pie in the sky, but the forum is called suggestions! :)

This is a good idea, reminds me of the Medevacs in Eve of Destruction.
But in my oppinion, the passengers should get first aid when they sit in the chopper, because flying them to the mainbase and back slows down the gameplay.

Great idea in theory but i think most players would find it easier and quicker just to die and respawn closer to the firefight than risking flying all the way back....healing...flying all the way back in and gtting shot out the sky. Maybe you could have different pilot kits.....to allow for medevac and casevac. Maybe you pick up the medevac kit and whoever jumps in your helo is healed after like 10 seconds?

Myabe you could have vehicles that drop medipacs and ammo bags to simulate supply drops.....

Just some ideas

OR when they get in the chopper they could get healed to the point where they are no longer bleeding (or having a hangover, what ever you call it). Then drop them off at a medvac center. Then if the person is healed the pilot recieves some points. I would love this game I love flying in the blackhawk and providing a support job transporting and rescueing people.

Ooooooo I just thought of this. If you can add comma rose commands maybe add "need evac" and their position can show up on the map grid. Giving the squad a chance to escape.

On another note, can the bh armor be upgraded. It seems that they are dammaged too much by small arms fire. And can the bh's speed be increased, those things can move faster then what they seem to do in the game.

brings me back to my idea.
- a person is revived at bleeding point say 35%.
- the medic comes to heal them to say 55%, a 20% increase.
- the person is not bleeding but is not 100% well.
- At the FOB (see other thread in suggestions; AAS idea) a medic station would fully heal them to 100%.
- if a troop is shot he doesnt magically get healed, he is sent to a surgical station. if it is minor then he can still fight but if he is incapatitated he needs a casevac.
