The knife used to give 1 hit kills in the past, very powerful as shown many times by Cpt. MikeMei on his YouTube random PR videos. But lately, as of few years ago, I noticed it starting to slip up.
In this video, if you slow it down, I knife the guy the first time above his right side plate and under the arm, major artery by the armpit or lung hit from back.
The 2nd knife thrust goes into his hand, seemingly blocked by it defensively. Is there coding for this animation or effect? Sort of like the Hamas fighters side roll?
The third knife thrust, debatably goes into his face as it registers another sound but more likely the helmet.
The damage done by a giant combat knife would require extreme medical care to these injuries putting him temporarily out of the fight and I feel this man should have gone down wounded.
In the past I thought it was an armor issue. But a shoulder strap is not body armor.
How am I to have a chance against full squad while I have a knife? I should have been able to knife this first guy by the 2nd hit, run to roof and jump out of compound like a ninja. I have been bamboozled. Otherwise, knife first guy, then go for as many as I can.
Also the roof tops of the Musa Qala buildings require to you jump or your player stops then slowly walks up it like steep hill for 1 step. Digging into escape stamina or speed.

Without tracker, it's difficult to say anything reliable.
Here is knife damage model:
Head = 5250
Upper leg / no armor chest = 245
Poor armor = 245
Full armor = 210
Shoulder / Lower arm / Lower leg = 87,5

I don't think he knows that knife is always a one hit kill to the torso. And in the video it shows him stabbing the guy twice in the shoulders and I doubt any of those hits registered. It happens sometimes as you can see here

But they have body armor while I got under hit arm pit one time.

The knife looks underhanded grip in first person by the enemy experiences the overhanded grip. He better have been bleeding.
If you hit the body armor, I have no issue with this problem. Even hitting the battle belt. But if I get the back of the thigh on a prone guy, base of the spine on the butt he better go down because knife tagging enemy is just simulating a bit more work than the one stab depicted. Its stick, twist and jerk out, maybe more.
The knife thrust rate and speed is an issue. Sort of like the bolt action rifle, which they increased the fire rate of, the knife needs the same speed as bolt action at the least. It could be considered a compensation "fix" for this issue. One justification would be against a enemy bolt action and/or having one yourself, many people will choose their knife than risk dealing with bolt action CQC accuracy.
Faster thrusts and thrust resets so it can feel more realistic in place of "making knifing bug perfect" issue when you keep hitting hit gear with the knife. Making incidents like my video more justified if it takes multiple. I say 2 thrusts per second instead of the 1 or 1.5 thrusts per second currently.

I had 1 of 2 reactive intentions, with my tactics I always have chance starting from some type of surprise, to movement, manipulation of enemy in the second to second fight or escape to break contact then re-engage.Suchar wrote:You are to have (close to) no chances.

Intention #1 was to knife dude, go up the roof and jump off because I knew there was more from the footsteps. We need change to 2 knife thrusts per second compared to the 1 or 1.5 thrusts per second it is now. The bolt action speed was increased, which if its bolt action vs bolt action in CQC, or if I am the one with bolt action I will almost always choose knife, its more accurate and doesn't need to reload. So justification for that.
Intention #2 was to position myself among them like I did to use their cross firing crowding to make them hesitant to shoot, allowing me to possibly get a 2nd guy knifed, then my instinct is to do a burpee or side roll hitting ground for split second to drop out of their line of fire right as they are about to shoot. Trying to get them to TK each other, then pop back up in new spot, making their aim cross each others bodies in the process. If I can disappear into a bush in one of these situations, they still TK each other out of fear even after I have disappeared or gone down. I seen it.

You ever listen to your gut and feel things that are then confirmed by the physical? Its how I know when to duck, which I don't actually know, I just feel it. I have already explained what this really is elsewhere.

1 Man per piece of cover, Move cover to cover. In view of each other to save each other by shooting, distraction, division of enemy attention and ammo. 1 man hit per RPG/tank shell/mortar spread formation full time. Edge of cap zone. Use camouflage, police up each others exposure, no man seen sticking out. Scan aggressively with eyes and ears for anything suspect, even for birds disturbed to fly out of trees

You need to be closer you can stab them harder. If you are too far the cut will be superficial and the enemy wont even feel it!
